Ace Pigeons
Ace pigeons are the so-called best pigeons, 2nd best, 3rd best over a whole season in a club, combine, Federation of section.
'So-called' since an Ace pigeon does NOT necessarily mean the best.
There are clubs in which the bird that won most prizes is Ace.
If there are 12 races and only one won 11 prizes, no matter if they are early prizes or late prizes that is the ace. But of course a bird that won say 9 prizes with some firsts is better.
That's is why you will miss some super birds in the summary below.
To introduce all Ace pigeons I won in recent years would be too many. We restrict ourselves to those in Combine and M Brabant.
M Brabant means COMBINES TOGETHER, about 2,000 fanciers in 1990, now less.
Average 11,000 birds in the races.
Furthermore I race in Belgium in the province of Antwerp since 2006. The Ace pigeons there were won in the Fed called ZAV
in which fanciers of appr 30 clubs can participate. These are of course the best birds in a very wide area.
Others only race local.

Over all champion 2000. Many of its descendants turned out to be real good pigeons! The mother 96-088 is mother of a winner of 10.000 p and 96-088 is also gr.mother of 1st National La Souterraine, 3rd National Argenton and 13th National La Souterraine in Belgium (v Oeckel).

00-961 was 1st Ace Over All and 1st Ace Long distance as well. She won 5th NPO Etamps (11,162 p), her nestbrother arrived in the same second and won 6th S National. 07-6109708 (of same father 060) was 1st Ace ZAV Middle Distance in 2009. Another child of the father (96-060) 06-1160949 was also Ace pigeon in ZAV Antwerp.

The mother is a sister of the mother of Double Ace. Another sister (92-2657292) won S National Chartres 4.253 p - 3rd. Superstar is also a brother of both birds. 1st National Orleans descends from Superstar as well as the best pigeons long Distance of Holland in 2000 (raced by R v d Zijde). 01-1994137 nver missed at long distance. A halfbrother became 1st Ace in the Fed in 1999 (98-5812185). A brother of the father (94-1554627) gave a bird that became 2nd best Long Distance of Western Europe (Pentium raced by Leytens)

01-1994125 was 1st Ace Sprint in 2003. 125 is a full brother of 98-5812191 (Invincible). Invincible was 2nd best pigeon NPO of ALL Holland in 2000. Invincible won 10 x 1st.

02-791 was 2nd Ace in 2003. She is gr,mother to 3rd NPO National Ablis (raced by F Ebben). Her nestbrother 02-790 won Harchies 5,794 - 1 and Strombeek 8.621 -1.

This bird was meant to be shipped to Arab as a baby, but the middle man said he did not like the pupil of the eye which was too small he said. I am still grateful.

04-331 was a fantastic racer and breeder. World famous F 16 that is described as the best young bird in the Nationals in 2008 (raced by Jespers v d Wegen) descends from it as well as the bird of R Ceusters that is said to be the best bird of ALL Belgium in the Nationals in 2009. Unfortunately it got lost from the smash in 2007. It was Ace bird in the Combine with fantastic performance.

04-466 was raced 9 times in 04 and won 9 prizes. It became 2nd Ace All Round and is halfsister of 05-225 and 05-226 which were 2 super racers and super breeders.
05-226 is gr.father of 09-595 that was fastest of 27,000 birds and of 07-727 abd 07-728. 727 won 12th from Blois 9,334 p and 728 won 3 x 1st.

Super Ben was 1st Ace in section in 2007. It was also 1st Ace in Combine. A sensational bird that won in 2 weeks' time:

One of the famous 'twin girls'. Both her nest sister 019 and 020 were fantastic racers in ZAV Antwerp from the Noyon races and both hens were responsible for winning 1st Champonship.
Three brothers are good racers as well.
019 and 020 each won a 1st with minutes ahead and each were the fastest of the whole release.
Mr Storms got a sister that produced a youngster that won 1st from Orleans in Union Antwerp.
Mr Jos Vercammen got a sister that produced a youngster that also won a 1st in Union Antwerp.
My best hen in 2010 in Baarle Nassau was a sister of 019 and 020.

Father and mother coincidentally mated. They were both fantastic racers off the famous pair 230 x 067.
After fantastic performances in 2005 05-515 got lost in nice weather.
06-928 was 4th Ace in ZAV Antwerp from the Noyon races in 2007.

06-949 became 4th Ace in ZAV Antwerp behind 2 loft mates. Her halfbrother 07-708 became 1st Ace in Antwerp in 2009. Double Ace (00-2147961 and 645 (topman) are of the same father (96-060)

07-708 won 7 prizes of 7 races as a baby. In 2009 he became 1st Ace Middle Distance in ZAV Antwerp.
He won 27 prizes total, 20 prizes 1:10 (no doubles of course)
708 is halfbrother 00-761 (Double Ace) and Topman that won 5th and 6th NPO Etampes 11,162 p. They have the same father (060) that is responsible for many good birds. The mother of 708 is a sister of the mother of 019 and 020, the twin girls. 'Lady Di' is also mother to 'Boen' and 706 which are multiple first prize winners.

As a youngster 060 won in the first 10% in ALL National Long Distance races. As a yearling he became 2nd Ace Pigeon in ZAV Antwerp. It is an import.

08-772 won in 2 years' time 22 prizes of 22 races and 13 prizes 1:10. Many super birds are among forefathers. I was so stupid as to sell both parents.
It was 2nd Ace in ZAV Antwerp in 2009. The father (868) gave 3 more super birds at other fanciers but I only heard that after I sold it and after 772 performed so well. The funny thing is that the Taiwanese buyer returned it to my agent as he did not like it since it was scared and such birds could not be good breeders he said.
He did not realise 868 was in he breeding loft and I seldom handled it. I very much regret to have sold 868, see pedigree!

As a baby 08-682 won in 2008 in 5 weeks' time in ZAV Antwerp against many great names 2, 3, 4, 7. It was elected by Superduif as the 3rd best youngster of ALL Belgium. In June 2009 it got lost with still 3 races to go. What a shame. Also in 2009 682 was fantastic and despite it could not be raced the last 3 races it ended up as 4th Ace in ZAV Antwerp.
