Update 7th May 2006
On May 6th the Dutch finally were allowed to start racing.
The weather conditions were ideal. Warm and headwinds.
This very first race of the year was already destroyed by Ad Schaerlaeckens
Against 495 pigeons he won 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th, 10th from Nivelles.
The birds that won 1st and 2nd are full sisters.
Their father is ‘Home Alone’ (98-5812162) which is a son of famous ‘Ace Four’ (96-5660145).
The bird that won 1st prize (04-2147026) also won 1st prize on the same date in 2005 from 1,343 birds (2nd from 9,526 pigeons).
The third prize winner is a daughter of 95-230 (a brother of ‘Ace Four’) mated with 01-067 from Mr Jansen.
On ‘provincial’ level 10.143 pigeons were entered.
Against this enormous amount of birds Ad Schaerlaeckens won 1st, 3rd, 6th !!!
1st and 3rd prize against 10,143 birds that are 2 sisters, imagine that !
The bad news is that the best pigeon of the loft got lost (a brother of the 3rd prize winner, so a son of 95-230  x  01-067.

Update August 2005

Also in 2005 Ad Schaerlaeckens won everything there was to win.

Like in previous years numerous fanciers won races and championships up till NATIONAL level in 2005.

One of them is Mr Buis whose 03-2184204 became best Short distance bird of Holland in 2005. It is a half
Schaerlaeckens through Mr Hulkenberg. For further info see 'references'.
Furthermore Michael Vanlint had 1st National Ace Belgium BDS with a grand child 97-1642130 (son 'Ace Four').

Best pigeon journalist 2004!!

December 19th 2004 NPO awarded Ad Schaerlaeckens as best pigeon journalist 2004.

* The 2nd best young bird 2004 of Holland (appr 31,000 fanciers)raced by Mr Nijhof descends from birds of Ad Schaerlaeckens and ALSO the 3rd best y bird of All Holland, raced by Hoffman is partly a Schaerlaeckensbird via R v d Zijde, line 'Superstar'93-1059834.

* 'Bulldozer' from Superstar Bas Verkerk became 4th National Ace and was the best Yearling of Holland in 2004. He is a descendant of 'Wounded Knee' from Schaerlaeckens.





* A full brother of 'Bulldozer' is the 'Super 210' from Mr van Noordenne, through Verkerk. So a descendant of Wounded Knee. 'Super 210'won 22,000 pigeons - 1st. It was fastest of 36,000 pigeons and won more firsts in 2005!!

  




* 'Sprint' from the same Verkerk won S-National NPO race Chateauroux, he became 3rd Ace West European Nationcup. His father, World famous Alessandro bred by Ad Schaerlaeckens and a gr.son of 'Ace Four' is also father of 'Boris'. 'Boris' became 5th National Ace Long Distance.

* The renowned pigeon photographer Fred La Bruyn had the 4th National Ace from All Holland at vitesse. He got it from John Rox, the parents were BOTH Schaerlaeckensbirds, descendants of 'Wounded Knee' (93-1059875)

* Belgian Michel Vanlint stunned the Nation with his 03-112 that won several provincials plus 1st National Vichy and it was Olympiad bird. It is a granddaughter of Schaerlaeckens'97-1642130 who is a son of famous 'Ace four' again. No one can show the same references.

* Mr Geitenbeek won in 2005 4th National Chantilly with Half Schaerlaeckens through Ebben.

* Mr Verkerk as a grandchild of 97-1642130 (son Ace four) that won in 2 weeks 1st and 2nd against appr. 4.000 pigeons.

* Mr Henri v Doorn had 2nd National Ace youngsters 'Chrissy' that also gave many winners.

* Mr Stotzel from Germany had the best pigeon of the whole country in the month of July 2005. A descendant of 96-5660144 and 'Wondere Jansen'.  

* Mr W Tempels won 1st against 15,000 birds with a Schaerlaeckensbird.

* Mr Groeneveld won 1st Ablis 6,705 p with a Schaerlaeckens bird.

* Mrs Onderstal won Peronne 4,474 p with a Schaerlaeckens bird.

* Mr Heymen won Morlincourt 20,023 pigeons 1st  with a Schaerlaeckens bird

* Mr v d Horst won Morlincourt 7,616 pigeons with a Schaerlaeckens bird.

* May 10th 2004 Mr Eppie Koster won race from Zutphen, entry no less than 16,476 birds. Both parents came from Ad Schaerlaeckens. Line Sissi.

* On the same day Mr Yntema won race from Maaseik 28,165 pigeons(!). The mother of this sensational winner was a Schaerlaeckensbird again.

* In 2003 Michel van Lint moved from Taiwan to Belgium and started racing Dutch birds that he got from De Bruyn. Especially 03-1141093 and 03-1141112 were spectacular in the National Long Distance races. Both birds carry Schaerlaeckensblood ('Ace Four'and Sissi). In 2004 03-1141112 won 1st National Vichy and he was Olympiad bird as well. It is a gr.daughter of 97-1642130 that is a son of 'Ace Four'(96-5660145)and a brother of 'Home Alone'(98-5812162).
In 2005 Mr Vanlint had National Ace BDS. Again a descendant of 'Ace Four' (1996-5660145).

* Co Verbree's 'Anja'(02-758) was bred from a son of 'Orleansdoffertje' Schaerlaeckens 93-5383224). Anja was 1st Ace long distance as a baby. As a yearling she won National NPO race Etampes 2nd against 17,251 birds! Orleansdoffertje is also gr.father of a National winner from Tours that was bought by Mr Eyerkamp. In 2004 Verbree won S-National NPO race from Chateauroux with another grandchild of 'Orleansdoffertje'. Brother 'Orleansdoffertje'(93-5383223)is father of W Zoontjens super breeding hen 'Vivian'.

Update February 2004
Some more sensational results by Schaerlaeckensbirds in other lofts in 2003

* Mr Rens v d Zijde had the 2nd best long distance bird of Europe for the 'West European country cup. This bird won 1st S National Bourges, his father 98-1015141 was National Ace of Holland in 2000. It was bred off of 2 Schaerlaeckensbirds. Line 'Sissi'.

* Mr S Duyn won 4th National with the same bloodline.

* Gerard and Bas Verkerk had the 3rd best pigeon in the same West European competition.

Imagine that: The 2nd and 3rd bst Long distance bird of W Europe (country cup)were bred off of Schaerlaeckenspigeons.

* Mr Lahuis had the 3rd best youngster of Holland. Father: a direct Schaerlaeckens.

* Mr J Harder had the 5th best old bird in Holland in 2003, the father of this Ace was a bird from Schaerlaeckens.

* Mr Zoontjens had the 4th best youngster of Holland. This bird is 75 percent Schaerlaeckens, line 'Sissi'.

* Mr Scheele from Terneuzen destroyed the races with his Schaerlaeckensbirds that won several prizes in the first 10 National NPO races.

* This is only part of a long series of impressive results on National level.

Update 2003
Due to special circumstances Ad Schaerlaeckens cannot race youngsters any more and for 3 years he has hardly bred any babies for himself. Nevertheless he became again 1st Champion nominated Nominated both at Middle Distance and Short Distance. And also in 2003 the results of Schaerlaeckensbirds at others were breath taking.

* Again 2 half Schaerlaeckens were Olympiadbirds in 2003! Raced by Verkerk.

* Mr v d Putten from Handel won 4, 5 and 8 in S National NPO race from Troyes despite the overfly and hard weather. All Schaerlaeckensbirds, 2 of them descend from 98-5812162 ('Little Devil').

* Comb Snoeren Kaatsheuvel won the BIG race, National Orleans with a crossing Schaerlaeckens through H Lugters.

* Mr Huntink Ulfot won National NPO race from Chantilly with a half Schaerlaeckens.

* R Bokhoven won 2nd S National NPO race Troyes (4,700 p). Off spring 'Fast Blue'.

* Mr Vliegen won S-National NPO race Chantilly appr 30,000 birds. Off Spring 'Wondere Janssen'(94-5572872).

* Mr Wouters Coreman Belgium won 4th National La Souterraine. Off Spring 'Adonis'. Another grandchild of Adonis was Olympiadbird, raced by Verkerk. In 1999 Wouters Coreman also became National champion ALL Belgium with partly Schaerlaeckensbirds.

* R v d Zijde won 1st S National NPO race from Chateauroux with son of his National Ace long Distance in 2000. Inbred Sissi.

* Mr Kazimier won 2nd and 3rd S National NPO race (appr 30,000 birds) with gr.children of 95-2067230 (brother 'Ace four') * Co Verbree won 2nd S National NPO race Etampes (17,000 b) with gr.child 93-5383224 ('Orleansdoffertje').

Update 2001
* Mr Mattens won in 2001 a car with a descendant of 'Sissi' from Orleans.

* So 2nd National Ace long distance, 2nd National Ace All Round and 4th National Ace short distance in 2001 all carry Schaerlaeckensblood.

* Mr. Lankamp had in 2001 2nd National Ace All Round and 5th National Ace Middle distance with a Schaerlaeckensbird. (NPO).

* Mr. Claassen had 4th National Ace NPO short distance with a halfSchaerlaeckens.

* Mr. Ulrich had 2nd National Ace with a Schaerlaeckensbird, Mr W de Bruyn won 1srt prizes against immense amounts of birds and so on.
