Sensational Fleur (29/07/2010 ) The hen that I sold to Jespers v d Wegen (Fleur) which is a daughter of 002 and inbred to Ace Four is mother of the bird that won 2nd National Bourges in Belgium last week in very hard weather against 30.759 birds !!!!
bird that won 2nd National Bourges in Belgium last week in very hard weather against 30.759 birds !!!!
Results last Saturday (27/07/2010 ) Last Saturday we had fantastic weather, bright and headwinds. In Union Antwerp/ZAV an immense mass of birds was entered for Belgian standards, 3,223 total. At the greatest distance I won 8th and 10th and 12 top prizes from 40. For Bourges I entered one bird, it won a simple prize. From 3 youngsters 2 won a prize. From Pommeroel I won 1, 2, 5, 8 from 797 birds. Of the total release, 8,660 pigeons I also won 1st and 2nd. Of all the 4 releases at the same station, appr 35,000 pigeons, my 2 birds had the greatest speed.
Great references again (23/07/2010 ) The 2nd and 3rd week of June lots of victories again with pigeons of my bloodline, even on National level. - Hornesch from Cadier en Keer won 1st NPO National with off spring 144 (sister Ace Four, through B v d Brandt. - Reynen won 1st National NPO with same bloodline from Argenton. - Nijhof won 1st, 4th and 5th NPO Arras from 5,371 pigeons. 75% my blood. - Gerry Jeene won 1st Haasrode from about 9,000 p. Before he won 3rd National Ace pigeon, 4th National Ace pigeon and in 2010 3rd NPO Pithiviers and 8th NPO Nanteuil. Most probably he will be National Champion of ALL Holland in 2010. 90% of his birds come from my loft. - Comb v Heeteren won 4th Nat NPO Nanteuil from 19,200 p !! - J Meurysse from Dentergem won 2 prizes in top 10 Provincial Clermont. Two nestbrothers, offspring 03-1234922.
What a disaster (12/07/2010 ) While the Dutch cancelled all yuoung birdf races again due to the heat, the Belgians raced their 2010 birds for the 11th time last Saturday. The BIG race was Orleans in Antwerpen and in Limburg, up to 450 kms. Once there were over 10,000 birds in this prestigous provincial race. Now only appr 4,400. Those who dare not race in this terrible heat with headwinds were right. 50% of the young birds got lost. Strangely enough completely unknown fanciers got early birds and big names were among the victims. The Dutch do things better in such weather. The week before Orleans was on the program with 2 nights in the basket. They released the birds 150 km closer with one night in the basket. No problem, fast race. On Saturday, the day of the smash from Orleans, the Dutch had a race from Chateauroux (old birds, 600 kms). The release was postponed to Sunday. The same heat but tailwinds on Sunday. The old birds proved that the heat alone is no problem with tailwinds. It was a veryu fast race and in 20 minutes the race was finished in many clubs. Next week is Bourges, THE BIG RACE. The Belgians are in for a record. They expect the lowest entry ever due to the smash from Orleans last Saturday.
Nu schoot men zich in eigen been.
Strange world (05/07/2010 ) Today July 6th me and my Belgian neighbours are preparing our young birds for the prestigeous Orleans race in Antwerp. The birds will be basketed 3 days from now. They flew already 4 races from 400 kms while the Dutch neighbours did not even have ONE race with youngsters. Yesterday and the day before, July 3rd, most federations in Holland had the first young bird race on their program but tha National Homing Union NPO strongly advised to cancel the races due to the heat (37 C at places) and thus happened. The heat was so unbearable that I did not even dare to enter my old birds for this last old bird race which meant that I could forget championships Middle Distance. How wrong I was. Despite the heat and headwinds all races, even long distance, went smoothly without losses. Once more it became clear bids can stand the heat, even experienced young birds. The result in my Belgian loft from Dourdan, 400 kms, was not too bad. 9 prizes from 12 birds that I entered. The situation is strange though. Belgian fellow fanciers in my village already had 4 young bird races from 400 kms and will race Orleans (for some 'long distance') with youngsters) while our (Dutch) young bird season has not started yet but may start next week from 70 kms.
Not only Nijhof (02/07/2010 ) In the previous item one could read that Nijhof was sensational by winning 1, 4, 5, 10 from an NPO race from Arras against no less than 15,371 birds. But also the 2nd prize winner of this race originated from my loft. It was Mr G v d Kemp who won 2nd. Descendant super breeder 02-0236306 x 05-1541578. 578 is daughter 95-230 x 01-067. Eric Limbourg won National Bordeaux in Belgium also with partly my bloodline.
Sensational (25/06/2010 ) Only now I read in the newspaper that Mr Nijhof won last week from a S National NPO race from Arras, no less than 15,371 birds in the race: 1, 4, 5 and 10. His birds are 90% my bloodline. His result is just as sensational as that of Mr Knaven who won also from an NPO race 2, 3, 4 also with birds that mainly descend from my loft. In the same weekend Michel Vanlint won 1st S Nat Montlucon with a far descendant of Ace Four, through W de Bruyn and G Jeene had the fastest of the whole province from Haasrode (appr 15,000 p).
Again Ace Four (16/06/2010 ) Mr Reynen from the neighouring town of Alphen won last Saturday from a very hard race from Argenton (headwinds, 600 kms) 1st NPO S National from 8,300 p. The father of the winner (gr.son Ace Four) won Etampes NPO 17,487 p - 10th and Morlincourt 3,436 p - 1st. The same Saturday Mr Knaven won 2nd S National NPO race 6,800 p with gr.son Home Alone which is a son of Ace Four. One week later Mr Knaven was the sensation of the nation with 2, 3 and 4 S National !!
Special References (14/06/2010 ) This year again I got numerous mails/faxes of fanciers that won top prizes in NATIONAL NPO races. But last weeks result of Berth and Els Knaven is real sensational. Mr Knaven mainly has my birds. From the S National NPO race from Chateaudun they won 2, 3 and 4 agaqinst 6,800 birds. A grandson of Home Alone (98-162) won 2nd S-National. This is its 3rd prize within the first 25 S National NPO. The week before they won 17 prizes from 19 birds they entered. They started with the 8th prize S National NPO against no less than 19,000 birds. The bird is a son of a gr.son x gr.daughter Ace Four. Home Alone, mentioned before is is son of Ace Four. The first S National NPO race from 6,800 pigeons Mr Knaven won 1st and 5 birds in the first 50 prizes S National. The winner was 50% my blood, the following 4 birds all 100% my blood!
Result June 12th (13/06/2010 ) We had a pretty hard race from Creil with strong headwinds. I entered 11 birds and won 8 prizes (1:4) to start with 4th in Amalgamtion.
Last Saturday (09/06/2010 ) Despite the nice weather the Fed in which I race ended up in a kind of smash. It was the only race that did not go smoothly. The race lasted 2,5 hours which means that only after 2,5 hours one third of the birds were home. Understandably there were considerable losses and for the first time this year the result was pretty poor (5/13).
Restult May 29th (31/05/2010 ) Last Saturday the weather was fair. I had a sensational result in Belgium. My 1st bird won appr 5 minutes ahead in Union Antwerp and Fed of Zav. It won 1st against 1,770 yearlings and it beat also 847 old birds against all the great names in Antwerp. From 11 birds I won 8 prizes. In Holland 10/19 and 7 1:10.
Result last weekend, (25/05/2010 ) Last Saturday we had 2 400 kms races in nice weather. Sens: 16 birds in the race, 11 prizes and 7 prizes in first 10% in Combine 'Cubag'. I was not satisfied. The result may look very good but I should have clocked earlier. Dourdan in Union Antwerp/ZAV: 10 in the race, 7 prizes. First 2 pick birds won 32 and 47 from 2,030 yrlngs. I also raced with youngsters for the first time (in Belgium). 2nd and 5th from 1,766 p.
To day (15/05/2010 ) Yesterday we had a race from Creil in nice weather. I entered 24 birds and won 17 prizes. Eleven prizes 1:10 The bird that won 1st prize in Combine (appr 1,200 p) last week and won 6th from 8,800 birds won 3rd prize yesterday. Our area was blown away by the overfly though. In Belgium I had the worst result since June 2009. Yearlings: 4 prizes from 8 birds I entered. From 10 old birds 6 won a prize. Over 50% prizes is daid to be ok but I am used to better results in Belgium. For some mysterious reason condition went down and birds did not train like they should.
Super References (12/05/2010 ) Birds of my bloodline did again very well in other lofts last weekend. - My neighbour J Storms won 1st in Union Antwerp and ZAV against appr 5,000 birds of all the famous names. The winner is off sister 019 andf 020, twin girls. Last year he won 1st Prov Orleans with a baby of the same pair and also Jos Vercammen won 1st in Union with this bloodline. - Last Saturday D Koopman won 1st from 16,000 birds with a lead of 40 mpm with a bird of my bloodline. - Geert Eeckhout (Belgium) won 1st from Dourdan and his winner probably had the highest speed of all Flanders. - J Merx (Limburg) had a bird that made the highest speed of 10s of thousands of birds. Crossing M Vink x my birds.
Result last Saturday (09/05/2010 ) Yesterday they had a very bad race in many parts of the country due to bad weather. We had a race from Morlincourt for which I entered 24 birds. I won 1st from 558 p (8 birds 1:10 and 12/24. In the Combine (1,197 p) I also won 1st. 'Provincial' I won 6th from 8,880 pigeons. In my Belgian loft I won in the Fed of Antwerp 11 prizes from 14 birds. After my 11th bird still 200 prizes were to be won. The 7 first pick birds all won a prize. From 2,369 yearlings the first to pick birds won 15th and 28th. (6/12).
Gisterenavond werd me veel duidelijk.
Result last Saturday (02/05/2010 ) Saturday May 1st we had a very fast race from St Quentin. 6 Minutes after the 1st prize winner no prizes were to be won which means that one third of the bird was home. I won 1st prize regional (453 p) and 16 prizes from 27 birds 1:4. In the combine (1,170 birds) I was only some seconds after the 1st prize. So 2nd from 1,170 p. The bad news is that I lost the winner of a few weeks ago against 7,230 birds in hard weather. In my Belgian loft I entered 11 yearlings and 9 of them won a prize in Fed Union Antwerp/ZAV. Regionally I was 1st. From 13 old birds I also won 9 prizes which means 18 prizes from 24 birds.
Results April 24th (24/04/2010 ) Today we had a race from St Quentin in real nice weather. The result was good but not as sensational as in previous races. In the combine were 1.204 pigeons. I entered 29. No less than 21 of them won a prize 1:4. 12 birds won a prize 1:10.
Result April 17 (17/04/2010 ) Today we had again a race from Pommeroeil. Bright headwinds. Regionally 449 birds were entered. I entered 26 birds. No less than 21 won a prize 1:4. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23,24, 26 and so on. In the Combine 1,119 birds were in competition. I won: 2, 7, 8, 9, 15, 22, 31, 33, 35, 38, 39, 40 and so on. I entered 26 birds and won 21 prizes. After my 21st bird still 100 prizes were to be won (1 per 4). 17 of my 26 birds won 1:10. 13 birds (from the 26 I entered) won 1:25, so in the first 4% 09-585 now won 7th from 1,119 pigeons, beaten by 3 loft mates. So far we had 3 races: My best bird won 1st, 2nd, 4th (beaten by loft mates).
Result 10-04 (11/04/2010 ) Yesterday the whole country started the new season: I entered 24 birds. Regional 404 birds I won: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 28, 29, 30. 18 prizes total. After my 18th bird (from 24) still 78 prizes were to be won. Combine 991 birds: I won: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 32 (18 prizes total from 24 birds). After my 18th bird still 141 prizes were to be won. Of the total release 7,235 birds: I won 1, 2, 5, 6 and so on. My 12th bird (from 24) won 104th prize which means 1 per 70 !!
Further info. The bird that won 2nd from 7,235 birds (09-528) was home first but registered one minute too late. Father: 05-1490893, son of Invincible. Mother: 06-2160877, daughter of 95-2067230 (br. Ace Four) x 01-067 (New Sissi) b. The bird that won 1st from 7,235 birds is from 01-106 (Son Invincible) x 07-348 which is also a daughter of 95-2067230. c. The bird that won 3rd in Combine (991 p) and was beaten by loft mates only and that won from 5th from 7,235 birds is 09-558. Last year 558 won 1st Nijvel 558 p and 1st 1,205 p. 09-558 is daughter Super 306 (02-0236306) x 06-357 (Sister Goudhaantje that was best Olympiad bird). d. The bird that won 4th in Combine (991 p) and was beaten by loftmates only is 08-585. She won 6th from 7,235 pigeons. In 2009 she already won: Strombeek 7,720 p - 1*. Morlincourt 6.821 p - 1 (fastest 27,242 p) Strombeek 396 - 1 Strombeek 923 p - 2 Her father is 07-341 (of 98-191 Invincible x 05-773 of 95-230 x New Sissi). The mother of 585 is 08-652 (off 05-226 x 05-224). 652 is now in the loft of J Hermans/Miel v d Branden.
Below the peds of the birds that were fastest of the whole release and won 1st and 2nd from 7,235 p.

The weather (08/04/2010 ) Last week for most clubs the season started. For the north of Belgium that was a race from Quievrain (from 100 to appr 130 kms). It was a very bad race for the clubs in the western part of the province. After 50 minutes only one third of the birds were home. For clubs that are located 25 km more East the same race went smoothly. The birds in that area flew no less than 300 meters per minute 'faster' that the birds in the west. The late champion Goris used to say "short distance races are only fair when they are local races. A location 5 kms more East or West can make all the difference.
The smash (25/03/2010 ) The one loft race from Tenerife (Derby Arona) 2010 became a smash such as seldom happened. The media keep silent about it, they do not want negative news, but I doubt if this is smart. Of some 1000s of birds 425 pigeons were left. Those 425 pigeons were released last Saturday from a distance of hardly 300 kms. Arrivals: Saturday: 0 birds home. Sunday: 6 birds home. Monday: 3 birds home. Tuesday 2 birds home. Wednesday: 1 bird home. So from 425 birds more than 400 were missing after 5 days. Probably most of them were drowned in the sea. I wonder if the Belgians and Dutch that took the plane to watch the home coming of the birds had a good time. And the man who is in charge, Mr Ledesma? He said in future he would train the birds more. Disgusting. He just does not seem capable to do the job.
Waarom ze daartoe verplichten zoals men in Tenerife doet?
A catastrophe (21/03/2010 ) Yesterday March 20th the one loft race 'Derby Arona' took place. 425 young birds were released in Fuertaventura at 8.10 a.m. Distance 300 kilometres. The birds had to cross the water, they had the wind ahead. It seems the races will be a catastrophe! On the day not even one bird had returned home. They could not even handle a speed of 40 kms per hour. Shouldn't such races across the water be stopped? Pigeons should at least have a chance to survive but their fate is to drown!
Mysterie of?
Fertilizer (12/03/2010 ) In pigeon magazine De Duif I wrote that birds that seem to be infertile often start breeding again 'as usual' when you put them in a warm environment. It works better than pills, powders or needling I experienced. One of the best birds I ever had was 98-191 (Invincible) that was 2nd National Ace ALL Holland in 2000. When the weather was bright and the wind ahead I knew this bird would win first prize directly after the release. Therefore you can imagine how I felt in 2009. The last 12 eggs off 191 were not filled. '98-191 is not fertile' I told friends last year. In 2010 I put it in another (warm) loft, 'nothing to lose' I thougth and guess what? Eggs are filled now! Onaangenamer weer was amper denkbaar.
-------------- The Rumanian who tried to steal birds from Berckmoes was caught in the act and was jailed for 1/2 year. And since then hardly any pigeon was stolen. Most probably he is part of a network, things might be solved soon but there is a little problem. The Rumanian thief does not talk. We got a mail about this matter from... Rumania. 'It is all your own fault' he said. 'You are too soft, your prisons are like hotels.' Put him in a prison in Rumania and he would be glad he could talk!
A scandal or? (30/01/2010 ) Today, January 30th 2010 the 14th One Million Dollar race was held in South Africa. Of the 4.824 brds that were entered 3.155 were left. It was a nice race, 560 kms, 23 C clear and calm headwinds. The winner was from the Tsjech Republik: 'Team Klemens'. They entered 36 birds. Koopman won 5th. He is said to have entered 75 birds, Eyerkamp ended 6th. 3,5 Hours after the race more than 3,000 of the 3,155 birds had not got home yet. The organisers spoke about a great succes, a fantastic race and so on. If such a race with so many losses would take place in Holland or Belgium they would talk about a catastrophe.
Buy cheaper. Koop goedkoper (29/01/2010 ) IN DUTCH AND IN ENGLISH !

(Koper was Veenstra). (;-).
Another record (15/01/2010 ) It is well known that the number of fanciers gets down dramatically year after year in Holland, Belgium, Germany and England and fanciers get older. But the money that is paid for pigeons also raises dramatically. Last weekend a round of 2009 birds (so babies) from Mr Jan Hooymans was auctioned by De Duif. The most expensive bird was sold for 96,000 euro a world record for a baby. The buyer was P Veenstra, he won the fight for thisd birds from his friend Koopman. The brother of this hen (also a baby) was sold for 36,000 e. These amounts of moeny were not paid for a super racer, a national winner or a proven breeder but for just babies. It must be said though they are brother and sister of some miracle birds. Hooymans is a new star in pigeonsport with sensational results in 2009. Congratulations to him and auctioneer JH. Room auctions certainly are not dead yet.
Father Koopman passed away (14/01/2010 ) We got the sad news that Cornelis Koopman, the father of Gerard, passed away January 10th 2010. He was born May 31st 1915 and was married for 64 years. He was at a blessed aged but death always comes too soon. Our sincere conolances the whole family !
No birds for sale (09/01/2010 ) I am sorry but for 2010 no birds are for sale. The only possibility is bid on a voucher for a 2010 bird that I donated for my club. One can bid by email to Serge@superduif.be Deadline of the auction is February 4th 2010. Asian fanciers should contact Ms Maggie Ku. > Maggieku@so-net.net.tw + 886 912 496 188
Is that it? (09/01/2010 ) A friend from the Arab Emirates proudly told me that the bird with which he participated in the One Million Dollar Race in Sun City in South Africa, took 16th position after 17 races January 8th 2010). He had reason to be proud since no less that 4,377 birds from all over the world participated. The Germans have even more reason to be proud. As usual they dominate this event again this year (so far!). They took 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 13th place. And I know most of these Germans ship babies that are about 3 months old while most others ship them as 4 or 6 weeks' old only. Kiddingly I asked my friend if he also shipped the bird that does so well from him at such a high age. That was a fact indeed. The bird had even flown around his loft for over a month before it was put on the plane to South Africa. Food for thought!
The BIG race? (07/01/2010 ) No less than 4,824 pigeons from all over the world were shipped to S Africa in the fall of 2009 to participate in the 14th one million dollar race. Entry fee: 1,000 USD per bird. In January 2010 there were 1,412 pigeons less. Lost, dead? Who knows. The Belgians shipped 507 birds, 323 are still there. Filip Norman alone sent about 60 birds, but 60,000 USD is pea nuts for him. So far the Dutch and Belgian birds did not do to good. The final race is January 30rd and then things may change. It is a matter of seconds then in which much money can be won or lost. People who can only win are the middlemen who collect birds!
So called naked breasts (01/01/2010 ) Depluming of a pigeons' breast is a serious problem for some of us. The cause was very controversial but now most specialists agree that it is caused by a Fungi and very hard to treat. Mr Don Riedel from the USA is almost sure to have found a solution. Acidified Copper Sulfate is the answer of the problem he claims: One tea spoon per 5 gallons of bath water. Thanks Mr Riedel. Of you are right indeed you helped many fanciers!
Is Copper Sulfate the answer to this problem?

And now 535.000 e (06/12/2009 ) Today part 2 of the auction of Eric Limbourg took place. The birds went 535,00 e today. The most expensive birds went for 66,000 e and 78,000 e. This means 1.257.000 e (not net!) for all his 248 birds. It is estimated about 60% of these 1.257.000 e will be his. It is a well known fact that KBDB charges fanciers that sell 3%. The money should be used to promote the sport, initially Limbourg refused to pay this but he made a deal with KBDB. 3% of 1.257.000 e is nearly 38,000 e. Nice money for the Homing Union but... the question is does he have to pay 3% from the total proceeds or from the money he will get in his pockets. Probably we will never know, since the book keeping from KBDB is far from transparent.
722,000 euro (06/12/2009 ) December 5th Eric Limbourg auctioned 133 birds. Total amount 722,000 euro (5,595 average). The most expensive bird was bought by Marc de Cock for 132,00 euro. But this was only part one of the auction. Today part 2 will take place.
Depressing (11/11/2009 ) I just came back from a trip to Algarve Portugal. I always thought pigeon sport was flourishing in Portugal, Poland and Rumania. As for Portugal this WAS true op till 8 years ago. Then there were about 30,000 fanciers but this number went down to about 15.000. Only in Algarve the number is consistent. I will get back on that. For Western Europe the decrease is alarming. In Belgium there were 237.965 (!!!) fanciers in 1951. In 1981 therre were 102.324 fanciers left and in 2009 the number went down to 35.694 fanciers only. In Holland the number went down from 56,000 to 25,430 in 2009. In Germany are 51.000 fanciers now, in France 14.031. But even more depressing than these figures is the age of the average fancier. In Belgium less than 4,000 fanciers are younger than 40, in Holland the same. Nevertheless prices of pigeons keep on rising, mainly due to buyers from China. To stop the decrease the Belgian Federation (KBDB) wants to invest money to promote the sport and they charge 3% from the proceeds of public auctions. But both some fanciers and the biggest website that partly controls the market claim the KBDB has no right to charge them money. Who is right and who is wrong?
Last race of the year (10/09/2009 ) Last Saturday we in Belgium had our last race of the year from Gueret. It was also the furthest race (615 km). Since I race at about the greatest distance, my location is North West and the birds had tailwinds the first part of the course which turned to North west (almost ahead) in the last part I thought I had no chance at all. Nevertheless I won 1st prize again in the 2 Feds Union Antwerp and ZAV and 6 from my 8 birds won a prize. FIVE prizes on top! NATIONAL (ALL BELGIUM) the early birds were clocked in the centre or in the East as could be excpected. NOTWITHSTANDING my bad location I won 10th National from 14,261 young birds and this bird was also faster than the 1st National Old birds (Thone who lives East). West of me (half Belgium) no faster bird was clocked.
To-day's result again super. (29/08/2009 ) In Belgium (Antwerp) we had again a race from Dourdan Angerville to-day. In the 2 combined Feds Union Antwerp and ZAV Antwerp my result was again the best. 12 birds in the race and 11 prizes. I started with 7, 8, 9. The 1st pick bird was ahead. This pigeon is a real super which flies top every week! It is is a son of 04-2147002 (off Ace Four 96-5660145). 002 is also father of famous 'Fleur' from Jespers v d Wegen Belgium. 'Fleur' is mother of sensational F 16 which is described as the best bird in Belgium on the nationals in 2008. 002 is also father of 'Den Hollander' (The Dutchman) from Henri Boenders that won 5 x 1st and it is father of 2 other supers. After the fantastic result in my loft in Holland last week (2, 4, 5, 6, 11 and so on) I could not particpate this week due to circumstances.
Other theft (25/08/2009 ) Now 50 breeders were stolen from Eric Berckmoes. Eric lives in the house of the late Albert Marcelis. Shortly before he passed away also birds were stolen from him. The plague has not ended.
Update results 24 aug (24/08/2009 ) Four races last Saturday: - St Quentin: 2, 4, 5, 6, 11, 16 and so on (370 p). 14 prizes from 16 birds. - La Souterraine in Belgium. Youngsters 615 km. 9 Birds in the race and 7 prizes. - Dourdan in Belgium. 12 Birds in the race: 9 prizes. 3 First pick birds very early. - Orleans not good (2/5).
Thieves caught (22/08/2009 ) Pigeon sport was the leading article in Belgians prominent daily magazines. Unfortunately the news was not good as usual. People saw Chinese throwing a bag away. They did not trust it and found the bag was filled with dead birds with all a leg missing. It was the leg on which the ring should be. So they cut off a leg to get the ring. At the same time Mr van Reet found birds missing after he was visited by Chinese. Why the thieves were after the ring must be clear. The police did not consider the case serious enough to arrest those Chinese. They know the identity, so they can take their plane home but the police are confident they will be arrested on their arrival in China. Are the same people also responsible for many previous thefts? Who knows?

Update results 15 aug (17/ 8/2009 ) After several 2nd and 3rd place in the 2 Feds Union Antwerp and ZAV last Saurday I won 1st. Total result with 12 prizes from 15 birds entered was real good. Result in my Dutch loft was not.
Update results (09/08/2009 ) - Last week August 1st in Belgium. Dourdan 390 kms. Regional 1st. Two Feds ZAV and Union together 2.644 p - 3rd after W Geerts and Geerinckx who entered far more birds. (I entered 30 and won 20 prizes). - Dourdan 8-8 in Belgium. Bright, hot, strong headwinds, so low speed. Regional 1st, 2nd. Two Feds together (Union and ZAV) 3, 8, 26, 28, 34 and so on against about 1,800 birds of the great names in Antwerp. 14 prizes of 20 birds. About 1,800 birds in the race. The 3rd prize with these headwinds was won at greatest distance. Vercammen at shortest distance won 1 and 2. - Argenton 580 kms (young birds) in hard weather, strong headwinds, low speed only 1.063 mpm. In the 2 Feds together (Union and ZAV) 6 and 7 from 666 birds (two sisters that arrived together (580 kms, headwinds). - In Dutch loft same day, same hard weather from Sens 380 kms 5 in the race and 5 prizes, to start with 2nd. - In Dutch loft from Strombeek 1st (1,5 minute ahead). It was 09-1277585, the same bird that was before 2 times fastest of the total release. According to the papers against appr 30,000 p and against 27.241 pigeons. This is really a miracle bird!!!
Yesterday's result (26/07/2009 ) Last week I did not participate in my Dutch loft. In Belgium the result was good then, 4 Old birds in the race that all won a prize and also the babies performed well. Yesterday I entered 27 babies and won 1, 3, 5 and so on from 547 birds. In the Combine I won also 1st from 1.083 p AND I WON 1st PROVINCIAL from 6.821 pigeons. The winner was the fastest of the whole release from appr 15,000 (!!!) pigeons. One month ago I also had the 2 fastest birds of the whole release and won 1st and 2nd of 7,720 pigeons. And now the big surprise: In both Provincial races it was the same bird that won! Did it happen before that after 4 young bird races the same bird was the fastest of the whole release of so many birds? Not where I live! Yesterday the performance in Belgium was also good: 20/30.
Last weekend (13/07/2009 ) July 11th was the big Orleans race in the province of Antwerp. I entered 14 birds, 9 of them won a prize to start with 1 and 2 regional. In the Fed ZAV I won 1st and in the 2Feds ZAV and Union Antwerpen together 2nd, 14th and so on from 1.751 birds. There was also a race from Noyon, regional also 1 and 2. From 1.065 birds in the Fed I started with 14 and 14 (same second). I entered 22 birds and no less than 17 won a prize (last week 15 from 22). Result in Dutch loft was poor.
Piet de Weerd (09/07/2009 ) June 4th 2009 Piet de Weerd, aged 96, peacefully passed away. Piet, the father of vet Henk, is an icon in pigeon sport, I consider him is the best writer ever. My condolances to family and relatives.
Result 1st weekend of July (07/07/2009 ) The 1st young bird race (last weekend of June) I had the 2 fastest birds of the whole release and I won 1st and 2nd from 7.720 birds. First weekend of July we had our 2nd young bird race. I entered 30 birds and won 1, 2, 3, 4 (668 birds). Hot weather, headwinds. In the Fed I won from 1,205 birds: 1, 3, 4, 5.
 Picture taken from tv.
Those birds would have won 1, 2, 3 and 4 from the total release (appr 8,000 p) but they lost nearly one minute trapping which is too much against so many birds. In my Belgian loft I won 12 prizes from 15 birds I entered. From 10 old birds I entered in Belgium I won 8 prizes.. The bad news is that after my superbird (a yearling that won in Antwerp 1st, 1st, 3rd and so on) deadly hit a wire in May my other best bird, almost a miracle (08-682) got lost last week. In 2008 682 won in the Fed (ZAV) against the big shots 2, 3, 4, 7 in one month time. This year she only won top prizes again. 08-682 was elected as the 3rd best baby from ALL Belgum in 2008. It's a shame, but that is pigeon sport.
Barcelona 2009 (01/07/2009 ) In 2 days the Barcelona birds should be released. According to the weather forecast it will be a hard race in hot weather (over 30 C and headwinds). The total entry is 27.630 birds (23,708 birds in 2008). - Belgium 13,583 birds - The Netherlands 8,042 birds. - Germany 2,003 birds - France 2,526 birds - England 868 birds - Poland 523 birds. If the weather will be what it is supposed to be the winner will be a bird in the West of Belgium (Flanders) but who knows, maybe the Dutch might be in for a surprise.
Results last weekend June (01/07/2009 ) Last Saturday the weather was real hot, the wind was ahead. In my Belgian loft I entered 10 birds. 'Provincial' (Union Antwerp and ZAV) I won 8 prizes from 10 birds to start with the 3rd prize. In Holland we had the first young bird race. My birds won 1st and 2nd and were the 2 fastest of the whole release. They won 1 and 2 from no less that 7.720 birds.

Naturally in the Fed they also won 1st and 2nd (1.081 p). The result from Orleans was poor.
Super resuts (22/06/2009 ) Saturday 20th we had nice bright weather with headwinds. - For the Provincial race from Dourdan in Antwerp I entered 2 birds only. They both won a top prize: 4th and 38th from 604 birds. The bird that won 4th is on top every week. - I entered 15 yearlings and won 12 prizes in Antwerp to start with 11th and 12th (1.289 p). - In Holland we had our biggest National long distance race of the year from Blois. No less than 80,000 p were entered. Normally I do not race long distance. Now I entered 3 birds ONLY. In the combine I won 2nd and 3rd. S-National NPO the result was sensational with 9th and 12th (6,005 pigeons) with 3 birds in the race only. Provincial I won 9 and 12 from 9.334 birds. Last week was average (9/12).
Again some scandals (13/06/2009 ) In 2008 there were some scandals concerning races from Blois and Sint Vincent. Unfortunately this is a black weekend again. Today the weather was fantastic and all birds were released soon apart the birds from the province of Zeeland. At 9.15 no pigeons were free yet. The reason was that birds were stolen early in the morning and 15 baskets opened. The birds were still at the release station at 9.00 am since the police are there to investigate the matter. The thieves are locals. Yesterday 66 birds escaped at the release station in Sint Vincent (1.000 kms). They are all from the same combine, the unfortunate owners are known, and it is a shame these people prepared their birds for nothing and cannot race.
Results past weekend (09/06/2009 ) Past Saturday it was real hard for the birds with very strong headwinds. Youngsters: a. In Belgium(Antwerp) they had their first Middle Distance race for youngsters. Many fanciers lost more than half of their birds. 10,5 Hours after the release the race (300 kms) was not finished yet. I entered 18 birds and won 13 prizes. Regionally I started 1st, in the combined feds of Union Anwerp plus ZAV I won 3rd prize from 1.391 birds. b. In Belgium we also had a long distance race with old birds from Bourges. Regional I was 1st. In the combined Feds I won 3rd WITH ONLY ONE BIRD IN THE RACE. 3. In Holland we had a race from Creil. Also strong headwinds. I enterered 16 birds that won 13 prizes in the Combine to start with 1, 3, 11, 15, 16 from 652 birds. The bird that won 1st won 2nd last week. The mother is a daughter of 95-230 that was sold in Jewels of the Sky (pipa) last winter. Champion Falco Ebben won 1st S National NPO long distance race (appr 12,000 p North and South) on Sunday. The winner is a super bird that won 4 x 1st before and it was bred from a cock of mine. The father 96-056 is off Orleansdoffertje x mother Ace Four mated with 02-791. 02-791 is multiple 1st prize winner and AGAIN daughter of 95-230. From the same NPO race (Chateaudun) Berth and Els Knaven won 6th National from 8.700 pigeons with 'double grandson' Ace Four (96-145). Mr and Mrs Knaven have a very successful year on long distance with my birds. Before they won another 6th NPO National Pithiviers plus 11th NPO and more top prizes.
And again! (03/06/2009 ) Last Saturday it was hot with VERY strong headwinds. The speed of the winning birds went down to 1.100 mpm. In Holland I raced from Mantes. Regional I won 2nd and 3rd. 15 birds in the race, 10 prizes. In Belgium I raced from Etampes in Union Antwerp (and ZAV). With increasing headwinds my locaion at about the greatest distance was bad but still a super result with old birds. At prize 27 (764 p) I had them ALL home while many famous names had no birds then yet even though some entered very many birds. In fact I only entered ONE bird, just like the weeks before. And it is always him that is on top. An ugly bird that no one wanted, (son 96-060 off Creilman), but despite the fact that it is so ugly it is a super. I entered my 13 yearlings and 10 of them won a prize in the combined Federations in Antwerpen (Union and ZAV) which was also good given the location in the overfly with these headwinds.
Again good (24/05/2009 ) May 23rd it was warm and the wind was ahead (East). The Belgians had their great National race from Bourges, 49,000 birds were entered. Due to South East winds south of Paris the fanciers in the Western part of the country won all. I had entered one old bird for Bourges and won one prize. I had entered 3 yearlings from Bourges, 2 of them won a top prize. Furthermore the Fedearations in Antwerp had a race from Etampes. I had entered ONE old bird that won 31st from 1,041 pigeons. I had entered 14 yearlings, 9 of them won a prize. In my Dutch loft I raced from Creil (over 300 kms). Regional I won 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on. In the Combine (797 p) I won 4 prizes in the first 10. I entered all my birds (24) and 19 of them won a prize (1:4). The sad thing for me is that nearly all parents of my best birds are in Taiwan. Other good news is that Henri van Doorn won 2nd NPO National Bourges with gr.son 95-295 that is a son of Mattens x Sissi.
Naional Bourges Belgium (23/05/2009 ) Today the Belgians had their big National race from Bourges. Despite the heat and the East winds it was a real fast race. Due to the East winds the fanciers in the western part of the country dominated enormously. The others were already beaten when the birds were released. In total about 49,000 birds were entered. The sensation of the day were F and J Vandenheede from Zingem. Two birds arrived together winning the 1st National Old birds and... 1st National yearlings. The wind was in their favour but not only for them. A fantastic result!
Summary races (10/05/2009 ) A summary of yesterday's races in nice weather. Who in the whole country did the same. 1. Race from Etampes Fed Sint Job (ZAV) PLUS Union Antwerp. Distance 372 km. against all the great Belgian names. 4 old birds in the race, 4 prizes. 16 Yearlings in the race, 16 prizes! 13 Leading prizes. That makes 20 in the race and 20 prizes. 2. Race from Creil in Holland. 24 birds in the race, 22 prizes (one per four). 3. That totalizes 44 birds and 42 prizes. 4. Note: The very best bird is severely injured and could not be raced, parents of my best racers are in Taiwan!
Astonishing results! (09/05/2009 ) As mentioned before the 2 big and famous Feds in Belgium (ZAV and Union Antwerp) race together this year. This resulted in enormous amounts of birds for Belgian standards with all the great names participating. In the previous weeks my results were so great that people said: 'Better is impossible'. They were wrong. Today we had a race in very nice weather. Etampes 372 kms. I entered 4 old birds and they all 4 won a prize, in fact still 292 prizes were to be won when all my 4 birds were home. I entered 16 yearlings and... won 16 prizes, 13 of them on top. After I had all my 16 birds home still over 200 prizes were to be won. So that means: 20 birds entered and 20 prizes (!!!!!!) against all those famous names !!!! And then you should know that maybe the best bird I ever had which started the season by winning 1st and 3rd in the Fed with all the money and an advance of 3 minutes is severely injured and may not make it. In my loft in Holland I won 22 prizes from 24 birds. (1 per 4) only seconds behind the winner they lost minutes trapping due to working activities right behind my loft.
Now Brockamp (08/05/2009 ) Some weeks ago, when he was on a holiday, pigeons were stolen from Dutch long distance star Cor v d Heyde. In the night from May 1st to May 2nd 31 birds were stolen from the German long distance champ Brockamp. So many birds have been stolen in the last few years, mostly long distance birds, that people wonder if there is one gang or more. And they also wonder why not even one track was found yet.
Race result (03/05/2009 ) Yesterday an historic event took place in the province of Antwerp. The 2 big Feds Union and ZAV will race together from now on in the Middle Distance races. The result was a huge amount of birds for Belgian standards: 1.884 old birds nd 2.273 young birds. All the big names participated. I entered 4 old birds, 3 of them were on top. After my 3rd bird still 520 prizes were to be won! The super yearling (best bird I ever had) that hit a wire during loft training and almost flew itself to death I cannot race. From the 16 birds I entered 14 won a prize, 8 birds in the first 5%. After the 14th bird still 200 prizes were to be won. The result in my Dutch loft was real bad since the birds did not trap. 3 Meters from my loft the neighbours started to build a garage, they only work on Saturday (racing day) and I am other races for this year are at stake.
disaster (29/04/2009 ) The super bird that was 5 weeks on a row first bird (probably the best in Belgium so far) and already candidate to become National Ace pigeon did not get home from training round the loft yesterday. G..d..m!
Also in Belgium (27/04/2009 ) Yesterday we had our 3rd race in Belgium and AGAIN super result. 4 Birds were entered, 3 won a prize, 2 of them on top. 17 Yearlings were entered, no less than 14 won a prize again, 8 of them on top. Of the 17 yearlings that I have in total 11 won a prize in ALL races so far.
Again 1st (25/04/2009 ) To-day's race: Entry 407 p. 24 birds entered, 18 prizes. Again 1st (3rd 1st prize in 4 races) with sister of twins (019 and 020). I live South East in the Fed, due to SE winds in the Fed all early birds are west.
3 Weeks 3 firsts (19/04/2009 ) Today the weather was bright, the wind ahead. In Holland we had our 3rd race. The first race I won 1st prize. The second race I won 20 prizes from 25 birds. Today (3rd race) I won 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 17 and so on (405 p). 22 in the race, 15 prizes. The result in the Combine and Fed is even more spectacular. In Belgium we had our 2nd race of 2009 today. 1st race 16 birds of 17 (!!!) were on the result sheet and I won 1st (3 minutes ahead in the Fed Sint Job). Today I had 2 OLD birds in the race. They both won 1:10. I had 17 yearlings in the race, 10 of them won a leading prize. The bird that won 1st last week won 3rd today against many great names (appr 1,000 p). Of course it was fully pooled.
One week 2 firsts (14/04/2009 ) April 5th I won the 1st prize in my loft in Holland. April 11th I won 20 prizes of 25 birds. In Belgium we started racing last Sunday April 12th. In 2008 I won the first race in hard weather (headwinds) with a lead of 5 minutes. Last Sunday, the first race in 2009, the weather was again hard. Though I race in Belgium in the town with the greatest distance I again won 1st prize with a lead of almost 3 minutes. The winner, a yearling hen, was also faster that the 1st prize winner old birds. It was the 1st nominated that won the race, a super hen that was also 1st from Merchtem, Halle and Quievrain and was fully pooled. As a baby in 2008 she also performed fantastic. All my yearlings, 17 birds, were in the race, no less than 16 were on the result sheet!! It was described as incredible. I also entered all my old birds. One came home wounded, the other 3 were also prize winners. A better start is unthinkable.
Again fast race (11/04/2009 ) Last week the race was real fast (3 minutes 1:4), the race of to-day was over in 4 minutes. Due to the Sout East wind the Western areas dominated. I had all my birds (25) in the race, no less than 20 won a prize. I had the first yearling.
Season started (05/04/2009 ) Today the racing season 2009 started. The weather was nice, the race only lasted 5 minutes! I won 1, 4, 5 (333 p). 'Provincial' I am the only one who won 2 prizes in the top 10 (3, 10 and 15 from 7,289 birds, even though I race only 18 birds total). My bad luck was that the 1st prize winner (08-706) lost almost one minute trapping. But she was still only seconds behind the provincial winner from over 7,000 birds. From appr 3,600 yearlings she was 1st! She also won 1st Sens in 2008 as a baby and is a daughter of 04-002 (son Ace Four). She is a sister of a bird that I donated to Mr Boenders Belgium that was a multiple 1st prize winner and she is a sister of 'Fleur' from Jepsers v d Wegen Belgium that is mother of 'F 16' the best bird in history on the Nationals.
To-day (22/03/2009 ) - Yesterday Pipa auctioned Claessen birds. As many may have seen Dr. Guo from the Great Wall in China bought a pigeon for 110,000 e and 8 birds total for 203,000 e. (25,000 avarage). He told to K R that one of the reason to spend so much money was patriotism. He wanted to show the world that it is hard to beat Chinese if they set their teeth in something. If the birds were worth so much? Of course they were not and of course no bird in the world is worth 110,000 euro. But people also pay crazy prices for a stamp, a coin or a painting. And Mr Guo? He will sure know what he is doing.
Dr Peeters, Kris Cleirbauts, Dr Guo and Kevin Roosens - The sad news is that last night 40 breeders were stolen from Fond Ace Cor de Heyde while he was in Tenerife. This is the 2nd time birds of his were stolen. And then you should know this man does so much for charity!
Start (12/03/2009 ) March 15th many Belgians start racing. Those are not official races yet but after a cold and long winter it is hard for many short distance racers not to start. By now nearly everybody starting darkening as well. Many fanciers in foreign countries try to imitate fellow sportsmen in Holland and Belgium and also try the darkening. In most cases this is a big mistake. Circumstances are quite different there and they risk to ruin a whole season. So it is better to think twice!
I, myself and me (21/02/2009 ) After a stay in the hospital for a week (back surgery) I am recovering. New English articles will follow soon.

Not me! (29/01/2009 ) I got several mails from several fanciers from several countries and it is always the same story: Those people have been waiting for my pigeons for years, I always answered to have patience and now they are shocked to find I 'offer pigeons for sale' on Pipa. The truth is these pigeons I did NOT offer for sale. They also ask me about pigeons from Gust Janssens and Albert Marcelis that are for sale on Pipa. Gust did not offer any pigeons either and Albert Marcelis passed away. Thomas, Nik and Carlo are ok but... the birds offered for sale are NOT offered by me, nor Gust Janssen nor Marcelis.
Watch out (23/01/2009 ) Most of the news is bad, which is also the case for pigeon sport, with fewer fanciers yearly nearly everywhere. The good news comes from Dortmund Germany. The Olympiad 2009 was held in big halls but they were not big enough. It is said 40,000 visitors were there, but some media say it was 70,000 (!). Anyway it took some visitors nearly an hour to move 100 meters. Among them were many Chinese and Taiwanese. Now that more of them understand a bit English they want to skip middle men when buying birds. This is not without risks though! Unless you know the fancier from whom you want to buy birds I would advise foreigners to go through middle men that can be trusted.
Een kans (07/01/2009 ) Enlish below this text
Zie elders in logbook.

I donated a youngster 2009 for the Federation in which I race. So the money will go to the Fed. The father is 04-2147002 (son Ace Four). The mother is of my best breeding pair: 95-230 (Brother Ace Four) x New Sissi. - 04- 002 is father Wondere Boenders. My neighbour Mr Boenders bought it also for a voucher and the bird was unbeatable in hard weather. - 04-002 is father Fleur. Fleur gave F 16 for Mr Jespers v d Wegen. F 16 was the best young bird in the history of Belgian pigeon racing on the Nationals in 2008. - Descendants 95-230: 1st National Ace 2nd National Ace (Johnny Boy Munnik) 4th National Ace (PvdMerwe). 2nd Fastest National Orleans 37,000 p F Hendrikx 1st Melun and 1st Prov Bourges (6,000 p) for Andre Roodhooft. AND SO ON. SEE BASIC BIRDS ON MY SITE. Direct children of 95-230 x New Sissi also won 1sts against up to 10,000 birds. One flew 5 minutes ahead in Sint Job 27-04-2008. While all the early birds were west my location was East. You can bid on: www.superduif.be > duivenverkopen > Sint Job Since 04-2147002 gae super birds with different hens it will get different partners. The buyer of the voucher has the choice.
He did it again (04/01/2009 ) Famous Bas en Gerard Verkerk will have 2 Olympiad birds again. But in 2008 they had a basket full of superior racers at long distance with an incredible record, amongst them Icarus and Nadala. Origin Icarus: Father Bulldozer (best yearling of Holland and 4th National Ace. Mother of Icarus is Bubbels, a bird of mine that descends from 96-2395056 (off Orleansdoffertje x mother Ace Four), sister 191 and Wounded Knee. Origin Nadala (National Blois ALL Holland 43,064 p - 8th): Mother again Bubbels which means again 96-056, mother Ace Four and sister 191 in its pedigree!
China (02/01/2009 ) If you believe many media all is gold that glitters in China. I can tell you this is not true. The enormous amounts of money that fanciers here are supposed to get when they auction are often fake. The truth is many auctions over there fail, even from great champions.
Vakantie!

Bad news (22/12/2008 ) Most of the news in 2008 was bad. It is well known how much the sport goes down. The latest news is that the province of Antwerp alone lost nearly 1,000 fanciers in less than 2 years. In Holland there are nearly 100 clubs less than a year before.
Once again Ace Four (06/12/2008 ) In pigeon magazine Spoor one could read that a pigeon called 'Johnny Boy' from Geert Munnik is one of the best racers and breeders in the world. As a young bird it was best of Holland, as a yearling 2nd best. It is a descendant of 95-230, a brother of Ace Four. Mr Beute considers Bulldozer from Verkerk as one of the best birds in Holland. It is a son of Bubbles, the name of a hen that Verkerk got from me. Bubbles is mother of 2nd and 3rd National NPO Blois and of several birds that were among the best 10 of Holland. Bubbles is bloodline Ace Four. Before I mentioned F 16 from Jespers v d Wegen, that is the best young bird ever in the Nationals in Belgium. It is a... descendant of Ace Four.
The best bird in history (23/11/2008 ) Belgian pigeon magazines and leading web sites all agree that a bird called F 16 (08-2036016) raced by Jespers v d Wegen is the best bird in history on the Belgian Nationals. It won as a baby alone: - NATIONAL Bourges (s) 13,350 p - 20 - NATIONAL Argenton 25,583 p - 6th (All Belgium) S Nat. 1st - NATIONAL La Souterraine 21,271 p - 7th. Its sister won NATIONAL BOURGES 31,824 p - 4th. National S 10,321 p - 2nd. The mother (Fleur) is inbred to 96-145, named Ace Four.

Result in Belgian loft (22/11/2008 ) The furthest young bird race in Belgium is from Gueret over 600 kms. 'Duivenblad' calculated who had the best over all result in the NATIONAL from the WHOLE country with 1st nominated, 1st and 2nd nominated, 1st, 2nd and 3rd nominated and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th nominated. My performance (name Comb Maegh A S) was the 6th best of the WHOLE COUNTRY with ALL the great names participating. Some names in the ranking: 1. Louis Keirsmakers. 4. Heremans Ceusters. 6. Comb Maegh A S (Ad Schaerlaeckens) 12. Van Hove Uytterhoeven. 26. Andre Roodhooft. 52. Michel Vanlint. 83. Dirk van Dijck 91. Geerinckx Luc and Bart.
Pedigree real super (17/11/2008 ) 08-1628682 won in Sint Job (fanciers of over 30 clubs in the povince of Antwerp can participate) in one month time: 2, 3, 4 and 7. Regionally it would have won 1, 1, 1, 2. Pedigree of this flying miracle:

Hoogst gewaardeerd (05/11/2008 ) Last weekend at the manifestation of the National Homing Union NPO young birds of the 100 best fanciers of Holland were auctioned. The highest priced bird was mine. It was a son of 04-2147002, a son of Ace Four. 002 is mother to 'Fleur' the sensational breeding hen of Jespers v d Wegen Belgium who destroyed the Belgian Nationals with off spring 'Fleur'. Below the ranking for the prices that were paid.

Ban on one loft races (22/10/2008 ) Some political parties want the government to forbid one loft races from now on. The reason is about 1,600 birds died this year in the lofts of the Dutch Open due to PMV and circo virus. This was because pigeons of too many different lofts are gathered they claim. Why organisers of one loft races in other countries do not face this problem remains un known.
What a references (13/10/2008 ) Got a mail today from Marcel Outshoven. In 2003 he got some birds of mine and only 5 years later he became 6th National Champion (All Holland) young birds. Got a mail from Rumania as well. The Rumanian Star Bebe Chicheanu got some birds of mine that ALL produced provincial winners. 'Unbelievable' he said. I also got mails that my birds are destroying the races in Hungry and in the Emirates my good friends Omar and Achmed said.
Verkerk again (09/10/2008 ) Verkerk broke a new record. 8 birds in 15 best National LONG DISTANCE. The 4th National Ace is again a child of Bubbles. Bubbels is that super hen he got from me (line Wounded Knee, Ace Four, Invincible) that produced befor 6th and 8th National Ace and 2nd and 3rd S National NPO from Blois. This bird would have been 1st National ace if it was not beaten by loft mates in some races. The 7th National Ace is off 'Bulldozer, a grnadchild of Bubbles that was 2nd National Ace before. Again an outstanding result of Verkerk and of my birds in other lofts.
Best ever in Belgium (25/09/2008 ) Both Duivengazet and Duivenblad calculated which was the best young bird in the National Long Distance races in 2008. It turned out to be 08-2036016 raced by Jespers v d Wegen. It won as a baby: - Bourges National z 13,350 p - 20 - Argenton National z 7,422 p - 1st. - Argenton National ALL Belgium 25,583 p - 6 - La Souterraine National ALL Belgium 21,258 p - 7. Its sister (Nathalia) won: - Bourges National z 10,321 p - 2 - Bourges National ALL Belgium 31,824 p - 4. The mother of both birds was bred by me. She is off 04-2147002, a direct son of Ace Four (mated with sister new Sissi). Mated hen of 04-2147002 was 04-091 a daughter of 98-162 (Home Alone) that is a son of Ace Four. 04-002 is also father of a bird that won 4 x 1st for Mr Boenders Belgium. Below the pedigree of mother of best young bird Belgium 2008
Again Super result (03/09/2008 ) Last Saturday my birds in Belgium performed extremely well again. The weather was hot, headwinds that became stronger and stronger. My location is quite North East, so it couldn't be worse but even though I had by far best result again in the Fed ZAV (Sint Job) with 7 pigeons at prize 26 (818 p). The week before I lost 1st prize with centimeters, the week therefore I won 28 prizes from 36 birds. In this Fed big shots like Roodhooft, Geerinckx, Dirk van Dijck, Vercammen, van Elsacker, Wouters, Berckmoes, Jochems, Janssen and so on compete.
What a sensation (25/08/2008 ) This weekend my birds performed extremely well in my loft and at others. - Jespers v d Wegen Belgium has a pigeon from me that they call ‘Fleur’: 05-2266436
Fleur is bred of 04-2147002 (off Ace Four) and 04-2147091 (off Home Alone).
Fleur is mother of ‘Nathalia’.
‘Nathalia’ won:
Bourges NATIONAL 31,824 p – 4th.
Laon 447 p – 1
Dudelange 237 p – 1.
In 2008 ‘Fleur’ gave a bird that is even better: 08-2036016: It won:
Bourges provincial 6,351 p – 12
Argenton Provincial 3,774 p – 1
A son of Nathalia won La Souterraine provincial app 3,600 p – 4.
Jespers destroyed National (ALL Belgium) La Souterraine in 2008.
From app 21,271 birds they won: 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 16.
National 21,271 p – 4th is Daughter Nathalia.
National 21,271 p – 6th is brother Nathalia.
National 21,271 p – 7th from sister Nathalia.
National 21,271 p – 16th of a cock of mine as well.
ALL THESE BIRDS DESCEND FROM ACE FOUR AND HIS SON HOME ALONE.
Pipa sent out a newsletter that said it was the best result in history.
This result reminds of the best result in history in Holland by Verkerk from National Blois.
He won 2nd, 3rd, and so on.
Both the 2nd and the 3rd S-National NPO are children of Bubbels that he bought from me and that gave other winners and National Aces.
Bubbels is of line Orleansdoffertje, mother Ace Four, Sister Invincible.
- On the same day P v d Merwe won 1st NPO S National Ablis (15,871 p) with descendant Invincible (98-5812191). Its full sister won 2nd Nat NPO Sezanne 21,710 p 2 weeks before. - J v d Putten won 5th Nat NPO Orleans 5th (line Home Alone). - I myself won Peronne 960 p - 1st and also 2nd from Marne.
- Hendriks won 1st Prov Sourdan with gr.child Mattens.8,423 p. - Rutgers Dinxperlo won 1st S Nat NPO Morlincourt (24,000 p!!) Line Sissi and Turbo. - Verkerk won from Strombeek 5,328 pigeons 1st. Mother 'Bubbels' bred by me. - Comb de Groot won 1 and 2 from Sint Quentin. National NPO 16,871 p - 7th. The father was bred by me.
Monden gesnoerd (24/08/2008 ) Belgische monden gesnoerd
Today (16/08/2008 ) To-day's race was real good. From my Belgian loft I entered 36 birds and won 28 prizes, 13 of them on top. (Toury 405 kms). - Mr v d Horst won a car with offspring of a bird of mine. - Falco Ebben, a young and ambitious up coming star who only races few birds, won 1st and 2nd NPO S National Morlincourt from 19,456 pigeons (!!!) with birds that descend from mine; line Orleansdoffertje and Creilman (both off Mattens x Sissi). - Meanwhile R van Panhuizen won 1st today as well with a bird of the same line. - Mr Soonius won 4th NPO Creil (18,741 pigeons), both parents are mine. - Mr Outshoven won 13th NPO from 17,000 p, line 605 and 98-845. - Mr v d Laar got 4 pigeons of mine. He won Peronne NPO 13,985 p - 3rd, Blois NPO 5,700 p - 7th, Morlincourt NPO 19,000 p - 4th. - Mr van Heteren also mailed he had a bird that was on tv as an NPO winner today. - Mr de Groot de Jong won 7th NPO Sint Quentin 18,000 birds. The father was a bird direct from me, line Creilman
Sorry (16/08/2008 ) It is useless to contact me for pigeons. No birds for sale. Thanks for the confidence anyway.
Ace Four again (15/08/2008 ) As one could read last week Andre Roodhooft won 1st Provincial Bourges (over 6,000 birds) with a super pigeon that won before 1st Melun from over 1.000 birds. The winner descends from 95-230, the borther of Ace Four. Last week the Belgians had their National race from Argenton. Jespers v d Wegen won 1st National z, 1st Provincial, 6th Over All (25,531 pigeons). The mother is 'Fleur' that is a daughter of 04-2147002 (son Ace Four) mated with 04-2147091, that is a daughter of Home Alone. Home Alone is also a son of Ace Four. The National winner (z) won 2 weeks before 12th from Bourges (6,351 pigeons) Last year a sister won National Bourges 4th from 31,824 pigeons. Another sister won 22nd National Argenton (23,078 pigeons), a brother won 1st Provincial Chateauroux and 43rd National Bourges from 32,762 pigeons. Of the same line he has 6th National Ace Duivenblad. So all these birds descend from 04-2147002 that is a son of Ace Four. 04-002 gave multiple 1st prize winners for Boenders and others. The mother is a sister of New Sissi (02-6049376). On the same day that Jespers won 1st National z Argenton with gr.son 04-002 a direct daughter of 002 (08-706) won 1st prize at my place with a lead of 4 minutes.
Again 95-230 (31/07/2008 ) Last weekend the BIG race from Bourges took place in Belgium. It was real hard (hot) Andre Roodhooft won 1st Provincial (5,974 p) with a super bird that won also Melun 1,109 p - 1st, Marne 1,279 p - 8th, Quievrain 1,803 p - 18th. The father wears a Dutch band (Co Verbree) and is off 95-230, the brother of Ace Four! Again!!!
Unique bird (30/07/2008 ) How many birds in history would have won 2 x 1st National in 2 years' time in the 2 day races? Frederik Leliaert has such a bird. It won in 2007 1st International Bordeaux and in 2008 1st National Narbonne. Mother is my blood, much to my own surprise.
Past weekend (28/07/2008 ) Both Saturday and Sunday very hot weather. We had 4 races. - Marne: 08-982 did it again and won 7th in the Fed (over 30 clubs). In a month time 08-982 won in the Fed (average over 1,000 birds), 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th. - From Noyon 9 birds were entered, 8 prizes, 7 leading prizes. - From Creil 35/20 with 7 leading prizes. - From Bourges only import 'long distance birds' were raced. Very poor result.

The press on A S birds (23/07/2008 ) Good news in the pigeon press of last week. - J Storms won 1st in Union Antwerp. It is off twin girls (06-019 and 06-020) that won 5 times 1st and 2nd regional. Line 98-191. - Mr Wolters Almelo had the best bird of Holland in May. It was off 2nd best cock of Holland and 5th National Ace Middle Distance. Partly an A S bird. - Mr v Zelderen won 1st S Nat NPO Tours (app 6,000 p). The father came directly from my loft. Line 95-230. Ace Four - Mr Urk Visster won 1st S Nat NPO Pithiviers (8,520 p). Both parents descend from my loft. Line Turbo 882 and Picanol. - E v t Horst won 1st Peronne 5,048 p with a half AS bird. - Mr Romviel won Morlincourt 4,121 p - 1st. Bloodline of mine. - Geert Munnik won 1st Pithiviers 3,000 p. A S blood - Mr Berkley Boon won 5,081 p - 1st (A S blood line). - Mr Lavenga won 1st Rayon (app 4,000 p) with a bird that won 2 x 1st Rayon as a baby 7 and 9 minutes ahead. A S blood. - Meanwhile Verkerk astonished the nation again and destroyed the S Nat race from Argenton. Among the winning birds again the hens that won 7th and 8th NATIONAL Blois (43,000 p!) 2 weeks before, whose mother he bought from me. Line Wounded Knee, Turbo, Orleansdoffertje, mother Ace Four. If Mr Bas Verkerk does not have the best pigeon of Holland bred off my hen it is because it was beaten by his own birds!
Don't miss it.
And again (20/07/2008 ) After the sensational results of yesterday, I won today again 1st, 6th and so on prov Fed of Sint Job 1,377 pigeons. About 100 fanciers participated. Only 7 birds entered, 5 leading prizes!!!
What a coincidence (19/07/2008 ) This week I wrote in magazine De Duif that good pigeons also perform with high speed (tailwinds). Today we had a race from Pithiviers (app 400 kms) with tailwinds and high speed. In Belgium I won in Fed ZAV (over 30 clubs) 2, 3, 4, 13, 16 and so on (34/22). First 3 birds clocked in 3 seconds, only 1 mpm short of a unique result (winning 1, 2, 3 in Fed ZAV), among them first 2 pick birds!!!! First nominated (Nl-08-1628282) is a sensational (Dutch) bird off 06-012 x 06-006 (daughter Ace Four). She won the week before from Orleans 911 p - 4, the week therefore from 1,023 p - 3rd. Regional 3 weeks on a row 1st! Understandebly Belgians are astonished about results of my Dutch birds. In my other loft I also won 1st (28/17 from 485 p). 6 Birds arrived together but unfortunately only one trapped and others flew around for several minutes. This winner is off Invincible (98-191) and Davida 02-376 (sister New Sissi 01-067). About tailwinds my tragedy is that sometimes I am right!
Result last weekend (15/07/2008 ) While in Germany and in the UK the young bird season has not started yet in Belgium we already race from 450 kms. Last weekend there was a race from Orleans (430 kms). In the Fed of Sint Job I started with 4, 6 and 7. 911 pigeons (14/26). The provincial race (9,860 birds) was completely dominated by the fore fly (the area around Kessel, Nijlen). This area is known for good birds but the difference with the rest of the province of Antwerp is astonishing. The good news is that my neighbour Johan Storms won 1st in Union with a bird off mine (same parents as 019 and 020, so a descendant of 191) while my other neighbour (Mr Boenders) got a bird of mine that is a multiple 1st prize winner at Short Distance. It was off 04-002, a son of Ace Four'.

The province of Antwerp. x are early birds from Orleans. By Lars V
Last weekend (06/07/2008 ) Race results of last weekend were real good again:
Quievrain: - 31 birds in the race, 22 prizes, The first 3 birds came 2 mpm too short to win 1, 2, 3. - In Combine from 1,140 pigeons 4, 6, 7 and so on. 17 from 31 birds entered won 1:10. - In Fed 7,452 pigeons. At prize 150 I had 12 birds from 31. Then my best opponent had 6 birds but he entered 58 pigeons!! 17 birds from 31 won 1:20 (in first 5%). Melun Belgium 24 prizes from 39 birds. Noyon Belgium 12 prizes from 18 birds.
Meanwhile W de Bruyn and Verkerk destroyed Bourges in their Fed. De Bruyn clocked 9 pigeons in 1.40 minutes, Verkerk clocked 14 birds in 31 seconds. Would this ever have happened?
Meanwhile in the magazines of this week a lot of vicories with A S birds are mentioned. - Mr Jansma had te 1st Ace of ALL Friesland, first time in history this ever happened in his town. Both parents of this bird, called 'Manon' came from my loft. The father is a gr.son of 95-230 (again), the mother is a daughter of Home Alone. - Mr Wolters from Almelo had the 3rd best short distance bird of ALL Holland in the month of May (Verkerk had the best) which was bred of a cock tht came from my loft. This cock was 5th best National Ace of Holland in 2001 and the 2nd best cock of Holland then. - Mr Verbree won 1st Blois (3,044 p), National NPO it won 7th. Before the same bird also won 6th NPO Bourges from 4.342 p. Both on father's and on mother's side it descends from my birds (line Orleansdoffertje).
Great result again (29/06/2008 ) Yesterday the province of Antwerp raced from Pithiviers, about 400 kms. Guess no on did better than my birds. I entered 5 yearlings, 4 of them won a prize in the big Fed of Sint Job. 29 young birds won 19 prizes to start with 3, 9, 16 (1.023 p). 9 birds won nearly in the first 5%! The bird that won 3rd would have won 1st on most other combines. It is off 06-012 x 06-006 (daughter Ace Four). Today we had another race from Noyon and again my result was the best in this big Fed against all the big shots. I entered 30 birds and won 19 prizes to start with 2nd from over 1,000 birds.
Crisis (28/06/2008 ) Some time ago I mentioned the enormous amounts of losses of young birds in both Holland and Belgium. Birds get lost from tosses of about 15 kilometres only in nice weather and birds got lost 'from the loft'. Many fancier got desperate and again many will quit. How serious the situation is is shown by the naked figures. For the first Interprovincial race from Vierzon in Belgium the entry was 13,275 pigeons LESS than in 2007. The tragic thing is that the previous races were pretty normal so that is no excuse. The first National in Belgium is Bourges. In 2007 the entry was 9,318 LESS than in 2006.
The Big Race (22/06/2008 ) Yesterday the Biggest race in Holland took place from Blois. It was an easy race which lasted only 20 minutes in some clubs for more than 500 kms. But it was also a fair race with equal chances for everybody. - Father and son Verkerk are not only great champions but also great sportsmen. They were sensational again winning 2, 3, 9, 12 en 14 S-Nat. Afd 5, section. Bas was the first to inform me that he bred his 2nd and 3rd Semi National prize winners off a hen of mine (line Wounded Knee, mother Ace Four, 98-5812191). Champion Willem de Bruyn won 7th Semi National with off spring Mattens Sissi in the same race. Also Willem clocked several very early birds. Leytens won 1st Semi National (z) also with off spring from a Schaerlaeckens bird (Pentium, 2nd World Champion VL. Verbree won 1st from 3,044 pigeons and 7th S-National. The same bird won 6th S-National Bourges earlier. The father is off 'Adida'(from Orleansdoffertje) the mother is off Lammert Leytens that was Olympiad bird and also bred of a bird of Schaerlaeckens. In ALL these winners against many 1000s of birds is bloodline Sissi-Mattens. Of the whole country, 67,000 birds, Jos de Ridder won 1st and Verkerk 7 and 8. De Ridder lives in the centre of Holland which shows how fair a race it was. His winner won before a 1st from Morlincourt from 20,920 pigeons.

Very sad news (18/06/2008 ) The very bad news of today is that world famous photographer Peter van Raamsdonk passed away. We have known each other since our youth and herewith I want to express my condoleances to his family and wish them much strentgh in these hard days. Antony Bolton, of an older generation, was the first who made making photos his full time profession. He was from the UK, Peter van Raamsdonk was the first on the continent who made it his living. It was me who introduced him in America through Ganus. People over there liked his photos so much that he often flew to the States where he shot many thousands of birds. But also the late David Lin Yun Ta was impressed and wanted Peter to make photos of pigeons for his magazine and books. That means something since Chinese are famous for their good photos and all those who have known David know for him the best was not good enough. Peter was a man who developed himself. Initially he cut his photos pretty much sothat the birds looked skinny but little by little they got better and better till finally most people agreed 'Van Raamsdonk is the best'. Of his photos it was said that he made the pigeons even more beautiful than they really were. No wonder the elite of pigeon sport applied to him for photos. Peter loved his family, his pigeons and his dog that he often took with him. Farewell Peter. You are a great loss to the international pigeon sport that owes you so much. Ad

Another super weekend (11/06/2008 ) Last Saturday the weather was so bad that no birds could be released, not even from 50 kms. Sunday was nice, bright, warm, strong headwinds. The fastest birds only made appr 1,100 mpm. From my loft in Belgium I participated for 2 races in the Fed of Sint Job. I entered 4 birds for Noyon that won 4 prizes: 1, 6, 7 and 31. Especially in this weather the twins 019 and 020 have often proven hard to be beaten. This time not 020 but her sister 019 won 1st. 06-009, the 1st Ace in the Fed in 2007 won 7th. 3 Of my birds were entered for Pithiviers and again they all won a prize, 2 on top, one import missed. It should be taken into consideration that I race at the greatest distance which is far from ideal in such hard weather and when fanciers of so many towns compete you. The same day Mr P Sandijk won 1st Chateaudun (420 kms) with an advance of 5 minutes in his Fed with off spring 95-230.
Real bad year (07/06/2008 ) Only know it leaks out how many birds were lost last Saturday. From Limoges the estimated losses are 40% and like always it is especially the good birds that do not make it home. Also the young bird losses are enormous, both from racing, tossing and directly from the loft. A vet said: I look more like a shrink than a pigeon doctor. What he means is that he has a hard time to encourage people and prevent them from quitting. Only Chateauroux in Flanders was a normal race. My result was poor. I entered 7 birds and the first 4 pick birds (the 4 best) got lost. They were all summer breds of 2007 with little experience. Especially in Belgium many young bird lofts are half empty before the big races come. The good news is that last week Mr Medze won 1st from Menen (6.668 p) with descendant Ace Fout and super champ Mr v d Horst also won a 1st from 8,283 pigeons with a descendant of my birds.
Update on race results (17/05/2008 ) Saturday May 10th. The weather was real hot with strong East winds. - 07-1905545 (direct daughter of 95-2067230) won 1st prize. - On the same day Geert Munnik won 1st prize from 3,030 pigeons with child 'Johnny Boy' (Nat Ace) that also descends from 95-230. In the first 32 prizes from 3,030 birds were 9 descendants 95-230. - On the same day I entered 5 pigeons in the Fed of Sint Job. 06-020, one of the twins won regional 1st. Provincial 6th. I entered 5 old birds, they all won a prize in the first half. I entered 9 yearlings that all won a prize as well. So 14 prizes of 14 birds was an unbelievable 100% score. - The week before (May 10th) I won 19 prize from 21 birds (1 per 4), in my Belgian loft the only bird that was not bred by me was the only bird that did not win a prize.
Incredible (30/04/2008 ) In Belgium I race in what is probably the biggest and is supposed to be the strongest Federation of the country (Sint Job). Only the big shots of over 30 towns participate. The 1st race of 2008 (Noyon April 20th) I won with 06-1161009. This bird was 1st Ace in 2007 and is a daughter of 05-1490772 that was himself the fastest of the whole release in 2007 (appr 10,000 birds) and so were 2 of his brothers. 772 is a son of 95-230 (brother Ace Four). The 2nd race (Noyon April 27th) was also won by my bird. This time the winner was 06-1160928, which is a daughter of 05-1490773, the nestsister of 772!!!!! when mated to her brother!!! Regionally 06-928 had an advance of 7 minutes!!! In nearly all other Feds it would also have won 1st with the same advance!!! The funny thing is that the first 2 races in Belgians strongest Fed were won by birds with a Dutch band! In East Brabant the fastest bird of some 10,000nds was won by my bird through Henri van Doorn and Peter v d Merwe won 1st against 6,000 birds with descendant of 98-191 (Invincible).
06-009 won 1st race in Fed in Belgium in 2008
06-928 won 2nd race in Fed in Belgium in 2008.
First race this year (20/04/2008 ) Today the weather was real hard. Bright and a strong Eastern wind. In Belgium my loft is located quite North EAST at the greatest distance but still I won 1st prize in the first race with a daughter of 05-772 that was bred of 230. The winning bird (06-1161009) was 1st Ace in the Fed in 2007. The entry was not high but how strong competition there is can be seen in the result sheet. The first 19 prizes were won by 16 different fanciers! In some Combines in Holland it happens that a fancier wins from 1 to 10 against 2,000 or more birds. In the Fed where I race it is hardly possible to win 1 and 2 against just some 100s of birds. In Holland I destroyed the first races in previous years, now the start was far from good, though in my combine no one did better on April 27th to start with wnd prize!
Jespers van der Wegen (10/04/2008 ) In the leading pigeon magazine De Duif (J Hermans) of April 9th was a very nice report on Jespers van der Wegen. He is described as the surprise of in Belgium in 2007. Some claim he was the best of the whole country in the National Long distance races for youngsters. Hisd results are sensational indeed. Momignies 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and so on from 960 young birds. NATIONAL BOURGES the best of the country: 4, 15, 26, 31 and so on from no less than 31.824 pigeons. Furthermore: Dudelange: 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on (1.213 p) Momignies: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Dudelange: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 19, 23, 24 and so on. Laon 554 p: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20 and so on. Dudelange 996 p: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 15, 16, 18 and so on. And more of such results. These super racers mainly descend from 5 babies they bought from Dirk van Dijk and 8 eggs from me. Two of their superstars are Nathalia and Bliksem. Nathalia won Laon 447 - 1 Dudelange 237 p - 1 Bourges 829 p - 2 Bourges 4,655 p - 2 Bourges S National 10,321 p - 2 Bourges National 31,824 p - 4th ! The mother of Nathalia is bred from 04-2147002 x 04-2147091. 002 is Son of Ace Four x sister New Sissi. He is brother of 04-331 the best hen I have had (lost in the smash from 2007). The mother is 04-2147091 that won 2 first prizes Provincial. (average 7,000 birds). 091 was bred from 'Home Alone' (98-5812162) a son of Ace Four. Bliksem won: 3, 6, 7, 7, 8, 10 and so on. He won 7th S National Bourges 10,321 p and 15th National Bourges 31,824 p. The mother of Bliksem is descendant of Invincible, 96-5660144 and Creilman. So both the 4th and 15th National Bourges, the greatest race in Belgium (31,824 p) are descendants of Ace Four !! The greatest race in Holland is National Orleans. Of all sections together (37,000 birds!) the 2nd and 3rd prize won by J Merx and F Hendrix were ALSO decendants ACE FOUR!! The 2nd of 37,000 was of a daughter Home Alone. The 3rd of 37,000 was of a daughter 95-230, brother Ace Four.
No start (20/03/2008 ) Two days from now the racing season should start in Belgium, but due to the very cold and rainy weather with headwinds the KBDB (Belgian Homing Union) has banned all races.
Last weekend all breeders (over 60) were stolen from Theo Lehnen Germany.
Another record? (09/03/2008 ) Live room auctions are not finished by the Internet. Today the Aelbrecht colony was sold by Hermans (De Duif) for almost 250,000 euro. For only 38 pigeons this is probably a record.
WHZB (08/03/2008 ) Voor eindstanden WHZB 2007 zie articles > English.
For the final ranking of the National Championships WHZB 2007 see 'articles'. Reedijk Jongekrijg had the best loft of Holland, famous Verkerk the best all round pigeon and Leytens Bros the best cock. B Pieper had the best sprint bird in history (it won only first prizes). Its father was bred off my birds.
Zie laatste Nederlands artikel.
And...? Right again (19/02/2008 ) Last night criminals in vain tried to steal pigeons from Pipa. The name of pipa needs no introduction. Photos of thief on video but very unclear.
And,,,??? again (18/02/2008 ) Last night 8 pigeons were stolen from Ludo Claessens, one of them was 'simply the best'. Since the many thefts of this winter had scared him his best breeders were housed elsewhere.
And.... again! (14/02/2008 ) You won't believe it but last night 19 pigeons were stolen from Filip Norman, the winner of the latest One million Dollar race. Last Saturday a pigeon was auctioned by J Hermans for no less than 36,000 euro. The buyer was from Hungry, the bird belonged to Mr Kobesen and... was a son of... right 'Kliene Dirk'. Are the high prices that people pay for pigeons the reason so many are stolen? It is doubtful since very many real good birds from great champions still can be bought for little money.
And again (10/02/2008 ) Unbelievable indeed but now about 50 birds were stolen from the team Batenburg v d Merwe. The amount of stolen birds adds up so much that the only conclusion can be that a well organised gang distribute the birds amongst many fanciers. Why do NPO, KBDB or victims not cooperate and offer good money to any one who can offer useful info to identify the thieves? The more thefts, the more people should house stolen birds and the easier it should be to find the criminals.
I am stupid (05/02/2008 ) Today I was asked again why I do all the work to have this site. The answer is simple: I am stupid. It only cost me money and time and I can sell my birds anyway. A reason maybe that I have the idea it helps novices and... There is Mike Hopman who helps me for very little money or for free in case of problems with my pc or site. Without Mike this site would not exist.
Justice (01/02/2008 ) - Yesterday famous vet HdW had to appear before court for selling medicine that are not registered. The verdict was 3 months on probation, a fine and an additional claim of no less than 750,000 e. Fanciers wonder if this is justice. He has a very good reputation world wide, he works hard and helped numerous fanciers that had health problems with their birds. - The good news is that Leo Heremans (Heremans Ceusters) got back one of his stolen pigeons. The band was taken off and replaced by a clip ring. - Other good news comes from South Africa. Filip Norman who did a lot of good for our sport last year won the One Million Dollar race in S Africa (200,000 e). Second place was for a man whose birds were stolen: G Koopman (120,000 e).
Never ending misery (28/01/2008 ) And again pigeons stolen. In the ngith fro 26 ro 27 January 44 pigeons were stolen from the Dutch Long distrance star A P Overwater. From Taiwan we heard the sad news that the man who founded South Star loft (Mr Huang Chin Pao) passed away. South Stour Loft was inhabited by numerous the very expensive National Aces ad winners.
AS in Belgium (27/01/2008 ) In 2006 I started racing in Belgium. Then with young birds only. In the first year already the team won 1st Championship. Not of the club but in combine Sint Job in which fanciers from over 30 clubs can participate. The team that performed so well in 2006 as babies won the 1st Championship in 2007 as old birds. Only 8 hens were raced! Prize percentage appr 80 %!. 3 Of the hens with Dutch bands were classified as 1st, 4th and 5th ace in that big Federation. The 1st Ace is a baby of 05-772 which is a son of my Super pair 95-230 x 01-067. 772 won in april 2007 1st of appr 10,000 birds in my loft.
Aelbrechts (26/01/2008 ) As mentioned before many super birds of Super Star Aelbrechts were stolen recently. Since Marcel Aelbrechts could not get over this coward act it is said he sold all his remaining birds to Luc Sioen. Too bad pigeon sport has to go on without Aelbrechts.
Pedigre Nat. Ace 2006 (25/01/2008 ) The results of the off spring of Ace Four is well known. I knew John Rockx bred the best pigeon of Holland from 2 pigeons of mine but I did not know their father is a brother to Ace Four. In the pedigree of the NATIONAL Ace you see it is all in it: Orleansdoffertje, mother Ace Four, Wounded Knee, Mattens, Sissi and so on!! To my surprise John came to bring me 2 babies of Holland's best today! Just to show his gratitude. Some do have the heart at the right place indeed.
 Inbred birds in colour.

The best pigeon of Holland in 2006 was bred of 2 pigeons of mine.
And again (16/01/2008 ) Even the National Public Television stations in both Holland and Belgium paid attentetion to the many thefts of pigeons in their news reels. Last night Martien Ravelingien from Anzegem Belgium was visited by thieves. 25 Yearlings were stolen, none of his top racers or breeders. 'This is a proof the thieves are amateurs that know nothing about pigeons' some media claim. Naturally the thieves do not steal themselves but order others. Some years ago some teenagers were caught in the act. They were paid with drugs!
Snel kijken dus.
Lembeke (11/01/2008 ) Duivensport is stil blijven staan jammeren velen. Nieuwsgierig? Even googlen en intikken 'Recht en Plicht Lembeke'. Proficiat mannen!!

No phone (02/01/2008 ) On my pedigrees and elsewhere you can see my telephone number. Since my wife nor me could handle the numerous calls any longer it has become impossible to contact us by phone. We apologise we had to take this measure, but are confident people will understand.
Sissi (31/12/2007 ) I get questions from both America, China and also Germany about Sissi. I got this bird from Gaby Vandenabeele in 1991. In 1999 she gave me tha last 2 babies and she died in 2000. So direct children off her born later than 2000 are fake. She was mated with Wittenbuik indeed. Off this pair I got 2 babies that were transferred to England.
Epidemic (23/12/2007 ) It seems an epidemic. Another victim: Last night 28 breeders were stolen from Belgians National Champion Marcel Aelbrecht from Lebbeke.

How deep can people fall to steal the life work of a 79 year old champion.
Another historic pigeon (21/12/2007 ) Once I write an article about 'historic pigeons'. Another one may be added. Mr Colijn from Holland auctioned his birds last week. Amongst them was a real super racer with a GB band that he got from Peter Fox (Syndicate Lofts) England. This miracle bird was bought by L Claessens for 19,200 euro. Normally foreigners buy Dutch birds. This time it was the reverse. An English super bird was bought by a Dutch champion.
Ubelievable (12/12/2007 ) November 21st I wrote that those people who claim that traditional auctions are history due to the Internet are wrong. This was proven again last weekend. Harry and Roger Wijnands auctioned part of their birds. For 99 pigeons no less than 401.160 euro was paid, so 4,052 euro average. Many top pigeons were bought by Thone but Gerard Koopman lay hands on the most expensive bird: (43,200 euro). And do not be surprised, this was only part of the auction, part 2 will take place coming weekend and... this was NOT A TOTAL auction. Wijnands goes on racing. Is pigeon sport dead??
How dirty (06/12/2007 ) Mrs Koopman phoned to tell me the tragic news that all pigeons that were meant to be auctioned Dec 27th were stolen last night. It stands to reason Gerard is heart broken, not only because of this enormous financial loss but because he could never think people could be so evil. He himself has been after good birds all his life and paid what people charged him. Other bad news comes from China. Again pigeons were sold, this time through the internet, with false pedigrees and unbelievable records. The records were so fantastic that smart guys over there did not trust, they checked in Europe and they were right. All fake!! When will this stop? Most fanciers in China do not understand English and depend on importers. Too bad some of them are evil!
Again Home Alone (30/11/2007 ) In many publications one can read about the great successes of the offspring of 'Home Alone' (98-5812162, a son of Ace Four).
'Home Alone' the one and only.
In quality magazine 'De Duif' (owned by Jan en Rik Hermans) one could read that J v d Putten got a son of Home Alone that became father of 4 winners and of 2 birds that won in the first 10 National. It is also grandfather of 10 first prize winners and numerous other Aces. A brother (97-130) is grandfather of 2 National winners for Michel Vanlint (through De Bruyn) and an Olympiad bird. A sister is mother of world famous Alessandro Verkerk (father 1st National Chateauroux). J v d Putten also got a gr.son of 95-2067230 (brother Ace Four) that became father of 6 first prize winners and gr.father of 5 first pize winners. It also gave 7th Nat. NPO Toury. 95-230 is also gr.father of the 4th NATIONAL Ace from P v d Merwe AND... of 'Johnny Boy' that was the best ybird of Holland (Best of the best) and 2nd National Ace Old birds. 'Johnny Boy' himself produced numerous winners against 1000s of birds for G Munnik). DIRECT children of 230 and Home Alone produced 2nd and 3d National Orleans 2007 (37.000 pigeons). A sister of Ace Four was mother of 1st National La Souterraine and 13th National Argenton and 1st Provincial Blois in Belgium. M Verpalen became 1st Provincial Champion 2007 with my birds (through John Rox who also bred the best bird of Holland in 2006 off my birds).
Auctions (21/11/2007 ) With the numerous auctions through the Internet of today some wonder if traditional auctions with the physical presence of birds are out dated. They are not which was proven last weekend provided quality birds are for sale. 'De Duif' (J Hermans) had 3 successful auctions. One of Dr Ally, the successful long distance champ with his Vandenabeele birds. His 64 summer breeds went for an average price of 512 e (20% included). Also Verkerk auctioned summer breeds (56): average 891 e (20% included). Furthermore Hermans also auctioned all 83 birds of Short Distance Ace Maes Stevens. Though it was sprint birds (raced from 120 kms) an enormous crowd of people showed up. Total proceeds 76,380 e (920 e average). The most expensive bird (a 2002 cock) was sold for 10,800 e.
Good news for Rumanian fanciers (14/11/2007 ) "Vesti minunate pentru columbofilii romani. Numeroase articole in limba romana pot fi gasite acum pe pagina de internet. Vezi < articole> limba romana" (Dani)
One Loft Race in Belgium (02/11/2007 ) The one loft race the Belgians (KBDB) organised in 2007 (a so called world championsip) was a great succes. At the same place (Nevele) one loft races will be held yearly from now on. It seems the Belgians are following the rest of the world. Since Hermans and Herbots take responsibility the organisation is in good hands.

The loft in Nevele Belgium where other one loft races will be held.
Houben (30/09/2007 ) After the tragic deaths of Jef Houben and his daughter Nadia in a few months time Luc, the sister of Nadia, decided not to quit the sport. He stops working for 2 years, will go on racing and then he will see.

Winner Dutch Open pure AS (12/09/2007 ) Rene van der Zande had great news. He and his team won the famous Dutch open. The parents of the winner he got from me. From Mr Kayama we got the news that Mr Amano Japan won 1st International One Loft race fromm Nagasaki, 600 kms with a half AS.
Pedigree winner Dutch open 2007

Robbe Peter and me (09/09/2007 ) We had the last race in the year. I entered 2 young birds from team in Belgium for Gueret, no less that 613 kms in hard weather. Bright and headwinds. The release was early morning, birds got home by dark. After nearly 11 hours flying Robbe won 2nd prize in ZAV (province Antwerp) at the greatest distance. From this NATIONAL results of great names are published on 2 Internet sites. One (from ALL Belgium) had 5 birds home from 34 when I had 1 from 2. Another great name was said to have a super result but.... when he had 3 from 52 birds I had half of my birds home (one from two). This bird, bred by John Meurysse, was on top in ALL 4 long distance races 500 plus kms. ------------------ In Holland Henri van Doorn won 1st and 2nd S-National Orleans in 2006. He won 2, 3, 4, 6 S-National Orleans 2 weeks ago. He won 2, 3 and 4 S-National yesterday! Bloodline mainly A S !!! ----------------- Famous Peter v d Merwe destroyed a race from Peronne on the same day. He won 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and so on from 11,346 pigeons. He had 1st and 2nd fastest of whole release of no less than 30,371 pigeons. His first 3 pigeons were bred off birds of mine again!
Crazy August 25th (27/08/2007 ) Saturday August 25th the Dutch had their big NATIONAL race from Orleans. It was a fair and hard race with bright skies and headwinds. Total entry (half the country) no less than 37,602 birds!! The SENSATIONAL news is that: - The 2nd of 37,602 birds (total release) belonged to Mr Merx. It is a descendant of 98-5812162 (Home Alone which is son Ace Four). - The 3rd of 37,602 pigeons was won by Florian Hendriks. It is a descendant of 95-2067230, that is a brother of Ace Four! - 1st S-National Zone 2 from Mr v Halderen carries AS blood. - In Section 2 the big sensation was Henri van Doorn. He won 2, 4, 5, 6 S-National NPO of appr 9.000 birds! In all these birds is AS blood. The bird that won 2nd is off spring 97-1642130 (brother Home Alone, brother 98-1326845 that is mother of Alessandro Verkerk (off Ace Four) again. Henri he was 1 second short to win 1st S-National. 97-130 is father to a super breeding hen in loft W de Bruyn that produced winners against 1000s of birds including nationals raced by Michel Vanlint. - Also on August 25th there was a S-National NPO race from Ablis. P v d Merwe won 2, 12 and 18 from 17,730 birds. Two of them were bred off my birds. (line 95-230, brother Ace Four). This means that from the hard National Orleans race 2007 with a birdage of 37,602 the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 18th bird all carry the bloodlines of pigeons AS. - Also on this day the Belgians had their National race from La Souterraine, about 620 kms. Bart van Oeckel won 7 and 13 National at one of the greatest distances. The same bird that won 13th won 1st National last year!!! NATIONAL is ALL Belgium. It is bred off a DIRECT bird of mine, namely Sister Ace Four. Its halfbrother won some weeks before 2nd Provincial Argenton (appr 4,300 p).
And again (19/08/2007 ) My team in Belgium. Despite the bad location to day 8 prizes from 9 young birds entered in the Fed. In ARTICLES (Dutch) there is a short summary.
Commotion (18/08/2007 ) And again my team in Belgium caused commotion. Last weekend they won Provincial (Fed ZAV Antwerp) 1, 5, 7 (12 from 16) with strong headwinds, speed 1,070 mpm. To day they won with tailwinds 1, 6, 11. The bird that won 1st was SEVEN minutes ahead of all the rest in Antwerp (12 prizes from 15 birds). Mr Outshoven won 1st prize, 6 minutes ahead, with grandchild 99-605.
What a weekend (14/08/2007 ) Past weekend: - Mr Banken won 1st from 9,500 pigeons with descendant of 05-1490748 (off 02-1739790 x 04-2197333) and 04-147091 off 98-162 (Home Alone). - Mr Falco Ebben came 1 mpm short with half AS pigeon and so did his uncle. - Mr Remco Cock won 11 prizes in the first 12 from 650 pigeons and 1, 2, 3, 4 against 2,900 pigeons with half A.S. pigeons. - Mr Jespers from Holsbeek got some eggs from me. From THE BIG RACE IN BELGIUM, National Bourges, he was outstanding winning 4th, 15t, 19th, 30th from, do not be surprised, 31,428 birds. From National Argenton he was even better and won NATIONAL 8 prizes in the first 100 from 20,921 pigeons - Mr R v d Boogaard won NPO race 1st National from 17,050 p. It is a descendant of 95-230 (brother Ace Four) and 96-5660144 (sister Ace Four). - Famous Crucke won 1st with a lead of 5 minutes this weekend with a half AS through John Meurysse. - My team in Belgium was sensational again in this weekend. * On Saturday I won Provincial (Fed ZAV) from Dourdan, almost 400 kms in very hard weather (less than 1,100 mpm) 1st, 5th, 7th and so on. 16 Birds entered and 12 prizes. By far the best result in the province of Anwerp just as in previous races against so many famous names.

On Sunday I raced 7 babies only from Noyon. Again by far the best result in the Fed in Antwerp. They won 4, 5, 11, 27(!) from 812 birds which is very much for Belgian standards. So the 4th bird of 7 even won in first 3 %. * On Monday the Belgians had their National race from Argenton, nearly 600 kms. The race should be on Saturday but due to bad weather birds were released on Monday. From my team in Belgium I entered 5 young birds only and, do not be surprised, 4 of them were classified in the first half of the prizes !! It is unbelievable but from nearly 600 kms from over 30,000 birds 2 of the 5 arrived together. The first one is from young champion John Meurysse, who himself is kind of shocked by the results he has with my birds.
Sunny Saturday (07/08/2007 ) Saturday August 4th is called black Saturday due to the heavy traffic on our roads. For me and my pigeons it was Sunny Saturday. - I raced 8 yearling hens in Belgium (Federation Sint Job) in 2007. Saturday it became known that 3 of them became 1st, 4th and 5th Ace pigeon. - I entered 16 youngsters in the Belgian Fed ZAV on Saturday. 13 Of them won a prize and 9 prizes were won in the first 10 percent! By far the best result. The week before 14 of those 16 won a prize and I was also then the best! - Falco Ebben won 1st from 1,100 pigeons with a half A. S. This was the 7th first of this young champion in the combine this year. - Superchamp Verkerk hit teletext (first NPO race) with Grumpy, that won 2 firsts before from 6,500 and 5,400 birds. Also 4th from 2,600 birds. Again... a half AS bird. - Henri van Doorn won from Chantilly 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 31. Total 30 prizes in first 100 from 2,200 pigeons. 90% AS blood. - Weekly J Meurysse Belgium mentions sensational results of his (half) AS birds. - A Geutskens won on Saturday 1st National NPO race from no less than 16.100 pigeons! It is off spring of a bird of mine through Mike Hopman who enabled me to update this site.
Peter again (29/07/2007 ) Yesterday Champion Peter v d Merwe won again 5th from no less than 33,500 pigeons with a pigeon he bred off one of mine. A full sister won for Peter 1st, 1st, 2nd in the Combine Line 191, 144 and Creilman. In my loft in Belgium I won 14 prizes of 16 birds I entered from Marne against all the great stars.
And again (22/07/2007 ) - Leo Baardman won 4th S-National NPO from 33,700 pigeons with an AS bird. - I referred to the Super from P v d Merwe (bred off son 230, brother 'Ace Four') that won 1st, 1st and 2nd against 1000s of pigeons in 3 weeks time but Super Champ Bas Verkerk has a fantastic bird of the same bloodline as well. A grandchild of 'Alessandro' (off daughter 'Ace Four') won in some weeks' time: 6,500 p - 1st 5,400 p - 1st 2,600 p - 4th Unfortunately Bas belongs to those people that lost most of their best birds in the smash from Germany last Saturday.
Another smash (22/07/2007 ) The day before yesterday the whole country had a 2 day race from Germany, the Northern provinces had a one day race. They all ended in a catastrophe. Even one day later 75% of the birds were not home yet. Unfortunately France opened its borders 2 days too late to change the racing schedule
Frankrijk open (20/07/2007 ) Het is nu zeker. Frankrijk opent de grenzen voor onze duiven
Peter van de Merwe (18/07/2007 ) Super champion Peter van de Merwe did it again. Last weekend he won 1st from 3,200 pigeons with a bird that he bred from one of mine (95-230 brother Ace Four). The SAME bird also won 1st the week before! By now the number of 1st prizes that Superman Peter won with my birds crossed must be close to 10. Ben Pieper has a pure A S bird that won 5 times 1st this year in the Combine.
Again Home Alone (18/07/2007 ) J v d Putten from Handel again performed real well with the bloodline from Home Alone. The young bird specialist won last weekend 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 11 and so on from 3,390 birds in a hard race. 6 of these birds descend from Home Alone.
1, 2, 3 (15/07/2007 ) From Bouillon 3 birds arrived together winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Fed (1,342 p). Among them 07-210 and 07-211, two nestbrothers. They were bred off a son of 96-5660145 and 04-6075300.
The week before I won 2, 3 and 6 in the Fed. Very strange is what happened the same day on long distance. The Dutch raced from Baden, the Belgians from Heidelberg, both towns are located closely to each other, so the pigeons had the same route on their way home. Baden was a pretty fast race for the Dutch. For the Belgians the race was a catasthophe, the losses were enormous.
AS pigeons outstanding (08/07/2007 ) This weekend the weather was real nice. It looked as if it was AS weather. My birds performed fantastic (news will follow), M Outshoven won 1st in the Fed was a bird of mine, famous Mr Verbree won 7th S-National NPO (descendant Orleansdoffertje) and photogorapher Mr Falco Ebben won 5th S National NPO with a half A.S. bird. Peter van de Merwe won 1st prize from over 2,000 birds with descendant 95-230, brother Home Alone
Barcelona (07/07/2007 ) This was the weekend of Barcelona, Sint Vincent and the French government that forbade all pigeon races. The birds for Barcelona were lucky. The trucks had already arrived in Spain when the French minstry forbade races. The Belgian birds that were in Sint Vincent, in the south of France, were taken some kilometres more south so that they could be released in Spain and fly over France on their way home. Crazy situation. At 9.50 June 6th 25,820 pigeons were released at Barcelona. Belgium 12.738 p Holland 7.525 p Germany 2.480 p France 2.122 p England 219 p Poland 436 p Hungry 95 p Luxembourg 111 p Rumania 41 p Malta 37 p Slovakia 26 p. Crowet Belgium clocked at 2.27 a.m. but the bird will be classified at 5.08 a.m. when the neutralisation time stopped, thus losing a top prize. Due to the Westernwind the top prizes were won by Germans or fanciers in the East of Belgium and Holland. 1. Mennen and daughter Germany 2. Tubee Netherlands 3. Rous Netherlands
Who stops the circus? (27/06/2007 ) After the National 2 day race from Sint Vincent with its many nightly arrivals I wrote in NPO magazine an article 'who stops the circus?' After Pau International it seems the circus goes on. Gerard van Thuyl wins the 5th National in Holland but... he wins the 1st International. How can such a thing be explained to non fanciers? His bird arrived at 4.41 a.m. So in the dark. Due to different rules as for neutralisation and the clocking of both gummi bands the Dutch classify its arrival at 5.19 a.m. The Belgian organiser classify its arrival at 5.00 a.m. Understandably people that want to buy the National winner in Holland and the International winner are upset. Naturally the international winner is worth much more than the national winner. But...the International winner wins 5th National. Crazy!
Great news (25/06/2007 ) Before the smash we had a series of 7 races up to 325 kms. All of them were fair and hard; bright and headwinds. The results were breath taking. My birds won all possible 1st championships on all levels: club, 'kring', combine, Federation. In the federation about 10,000 birds competed every week.
Racing team in Belgium (24/06/2007 ) Last Sunday my racing team in Belgium won 8 prizes from 8 birds that I entered. I do not have more than 8. To day 'only' 7 of them won a prize. Also superstar W de Bruyn is in the winning mood. He won 1st, 2nd and 3rd against 6,000 birds. The winner was one minute ahead. It is both on father's and mother's side a descendant of my 277 that is a son of Sissi. Last week he won 1st Chantilly (9,000) birds with a descendant of 277 and the week before he won NPO race Bourges, again with a descendant of 277. Sissi is a legend indeed and so is the dentist.
And again (18/06/2007 ) Today both W de Bruyn and P van de Merwe had good news. Willem won last week 1st NPO from Bourges with descendant Sissi (appr 12,000 birds), yesterday he won first Chantilly with descendant Sissi against thousands of birds. Peter won from the same race 1st and 2nd with pigeons bred off mine. Both fanciers (just like Verkerk, Leytens and so on) are among the greatest champions of Holland and understandably they themselves have good birds to mate with mine, so that chances are greater to succeed.
My Belgian racing team (18/06/2007 ) Last week the Middle Distance races in Belgium were cancelled due to the bad weather. Yesterday my racing team over there wearing Dutch bands performed real well again. The whole team (8 hens) were entered and they all were classified in the prizes. So score 100%.
Verschil in afstand: 15 kilometer.
Weetjes (16/06/2007 ) - Section 9 raced from Epernay 2 weeks ago. The race was hard, only one bird from Mr Frans Timmermans made more than 1.100 mpm. It was a 100 % Schaerlaeckensbird that beat no less than 21,000 birds. Another bird bred and raced by me was the fastest from Noyon in the province of Antwerp.
No reason to worry (10/06/2007 ) 3 Weeks ago we had the greatest smash ever, despite strong tailwinds then. We were a bit prepared since the birds kept flying around the release station for 1,5 hours. Today the weather was so bad North of Paris that there were no releases and the birds were taken back home by truck. However the long distance races (south of Paris) were released, since the weather was nice there, despite the head winds. Some called me before the home coming, since they were worried because of the bad weather. I reassured them since races never end up in a smash if the birds have a nice start after the release. And indeed, despite the bad weather the last 300 kilometres, the headwinds and the distance (600 kilometres or more) the birds got home very well. It is a proof again how important it is that the birds make a smooth start. Among the fanciers that performed well were J v Wanrooy (drs. H de Weerd), Braad de Joode, W de Bruyn, H Calon and H v Boxmeer, all well known names as for long distance.
Boring? (04/06/2007 ) June 3rd P v d Merwe won 3rd and 10th (34,000 birds) from Creil, headwinds. Those birds were off a son of 95-2067230 (Brother Ace Four). June 4th I myself won with my team in Belgium 1, 3, 4. 5 First pick birds in the first 15 prizes !!! The winner (06-020) only a yearling hen is already famous now. She was 25 mpm ahead, appr 5 minutes of the whole release (appr 10,000 birds). It is one of the twins that won 5 firsts before, see 'the story of the twins' in English articles. I entered 9 birds entered, 8 first pick birds won a prize. The week before the same team won 1, 4 and 5 (7 first pick birds from 9 won a prize). Other good news is that a bird off a Peter v d Merwe pigeon (from 048 x Golden Eye) performs real well for me.
And again (29/05/2007 ) Just got a phone call from Mr H v d Oetelaar. He had the fastest pigeon from 28,000 some minutes ahead from a pigeon of mine! The father is off 96-2395060 (from Creilman). The mother is from 98-1326845 (daughter Ace four!). The bird won a 1st before. The mother of this miracle bird is a sister of 99-1002605. Thanks God I turned down a big offer for it from a Chines. 98-845 is also mother famous Alessandro Verkerk (father Sprint 3rd World champ VL). A coincidence is that in same week PvdM wins 3rd NPO from 42,000 birds. Off of 230 (brother Ace Four) and a daughter of 060 won won 1st prize for me in my loft in Belgium. The bird of Mr v d Oetelaar is closely related to the hen of Bart van Oeckel that produced 1st National La Souterraine and 3rd National Argenton ALL BELGIUM.
The press (27/05/2007 ) Again good news on Schaerlaeckensbirds in the pigeon press. Mr Boenders from Rijkevorsel Belgium has been a great champion for years. In 2006 he got a grandchild from 'Ace Four' that is his best pigeon and won May 20th first prize. - That weekend M Pol won 1st from 1000s of birds and so did Kapelle (4,548 p). - Mr Jespers from Holsbeek Belgium won 2nd Provincial Blois (descendant 95-230). - P v d Merwe got 3 birds together that won 1, 2, 3 from no less than 42,000 pigeons. One of them he bred off a pigeon from Schaerlaeckens (descendant 95-230). - Mr Ferry v Loo became NATIONAL National Long distance. He won 1st National Blois (S 8) with a bird of Schaerlaeckens origine and his sensational 'Swing'( 04-306) also descends from my loft. 'Swing' became 1st Ace pigeon Short Distance (Fed) and ALSO 1st Ace Long Distance (proovincial 4,200 members). 'Swing' won: Prov Chantilly 1st 7th Nat. NPO Blois 7th (615 km) 7th Nat NPO Bourges (630 km) 20th Nat NPO Orleans (560 km).
The smash (21/05/2007 ) On teletekst page 840 of tv station 'Omroep Brabant' (www.omroepbrabant.nl) the person in charge of the release of this most fatal race in history apologises, he takes full responsibility and deeply regrets the immense losses. According to him circumstances were not that bad but much to the surprise of all people present the birds did not leave the place after the release but kept flying around. Nobody will ever find out why. The Belgians that were there (Pithiviers) to release their birds were so shocked about what they saw that they decided to cancel their race. What makes this day so dramatic is not only the massive losses but the fact that it was especially the proven Super birds that never got back. Do such birds 'go for it' too much? Is it 'fly or die' for them? Anyway, te first Middle distance race 2007 was also the last for many a fancier in my province. Mr De Dooy, National champion 2005 is one of the victims, Mr van Laarhoven, who performed so well this year is another one and so am I. None of my 'dream team' that won all 1st Championships on all levels in 2007 (after 6 races with bright weather, strong headwinds) got back home. Birds that won 1st prizes from 10,000 plus pigeons, Ace birds plus multiple first prize winners all got lost. A season that is finished after one Middle Distance race only is unique. Too bad for the sport, for the fanciers and even more for our poor and beloved pigeons that we will never see again.
National Aces Germany (17/05/2007 ) Dave Petersen USA informed us that he had bought the 5th, 10th and 13th best Natinal Ace of ALL Germany 2006. These 3 birds were bred off pigeons of mine from both father's and mother's side, so they are 100 % pure AS birds. They were raced by Mr Schwichtenberg who only has Schaerlaeckens pigeons and who became 2nd National Champion ALL Germany in 2006. It is said that never before one fancier had 3 birds in the 13 best of the whole country.
Again from 230 (14/05/2007 ) Mr Stevens beat 9,000 birds with a pigeon off 02-797, a daughter of 95-230 x 01-067. (230 is brother 'Ace Four'). Another brother (05-772) beat 9,376 pigeons April 14th 2007, another one (02-790) was also fastest whole release while his sister 02-791 won 6 firsts. A daughter of 95-230 became mother 4th National Ace 2006, raced by Peter v d Merwe. Mr Munnik has a decendant of 230 that became National Ace youngsters (best of the best) and 2nd National Ace, this bird in turn gave 6 'provincial' winners, but... it is not all gold that glitters. Of course not children off 230, 145 and so on are good! That's pigeon sport !
What a speed (14/05/2007 ) No less than 2,033 mpm made my first birds in on May 12th or... 122 kms per hour. But still that was not good enough. The over all result was far worse than from previous races but not bad with prizes 13, 14, 28, 37 and so on from 1,410 pigeons (only 11/26 this time). The wind from behind was so stormy that in some clubs 1.904 mpm (114 kms per hour!!!) was not good enough to even be on the prize list (1 per 3). The bad thing was that the pick birds (my best) failed. Was it because it was a lucky race? Hmmm. A race is a race!
And again (14/05/2007 ) May 5th Mr Kapellen from Tiel won 1st from Epehey from over 30,000 pigeons with a bird of mine. Inbred Sissi.
Hemmy 1 and 2 (11/05/2007 ) In Section East (9) no less than 32,551 pigeons were raced from Pommeroeil last weekend. The 2 fastest birds of this immense amount belonged to Hemmy ten Brincke. They were two half Schaerlaeckens birds (crossed).
This just cannot go on (07/05/2007 ) It is going to be boring but perhaps result on May 5th was my best in 2007. The condition of my birds just has to go down. The weather was very hard again, strong head winds, low speed. In Combine 29 birds entered. 22 of them won a prize. 19 top prizes 1:10. From no less than 10,265 birds my first bird won 9th. When I had 22 birds from 29 still 600 prizes were to be won. The bird that won 9th is 05-1490773, the sister of 1490772 that won April 14th 1st from 9.376 pigeons. One day later, May 6th, I entered 10 hens from loft in Belgium. 8 won a top prize. 3 Birds arrived together, they would have won 1, 2 and 3 in combine. In big Fed ('St Job'). I missed 1st prize with 3 seconds. It was 2, 4 and 5 and again by far the best in Belgium. 2nd prize winner (06-009) is a daugher of 05-772 that won 1st from 9,376 p. 4th prize: 06-928. Her mother is 05-1490773 (!) that won one day earlier 9th from over 10,000 birds. Her father was a brother to the mother!! So a baby of brother sister mating. Coincidence since I practise free matings. Pedigrees of first birds in Dutch and Belgian competition below.

Winners (04/05/2007 ) April 21st 'Federation 9 (East)' had a race from Isnes. Mr Sprakel won 1st from 13,110 birds (section 1). This bird was also fastest of the whole release (32,591 pigeons). Both parents came from the Schaerlaeckensloft. In Section 3 Mr Hartjes beat 10,414 birds with a 'half A. S. bird' through Mr Jeene. Mr Adams is the owner of a real miracle bird. It beat 10,020 birds with 20 mpm. Two weeks before the same bird was 3rd from 9,500 pigeons. Then it was beaten by 2 birds of mine. The mother of this miracle Mr Adams got from me. Bloodline Sissi and W de Bruyn.
Useless (02/05/2007 ) People sometimes ask why there is no phone number, fax or email address on my site. One reason is I do not have any birds for sale, therefore it is useless to contact me, sorry. My results are published to show that it cannot all be nonsense what they read in my articles.

Fanciers from the Far East feel free to contact Miss Maggie Ku (maggieku@so-net.net.tw) from Taiwan for further information.
It never stops (02/05/2007 ) Today MrGeert Munnick informed me that his 'Johnny Boy' (05-1844389) was the best youngster of Holland in 2005 in 'The Best of the Best', as a yearling it became 2nd National Ace Holland (WHZB) Middle Distance and 2nd World Champion Winning Open. His father won 3 firsts (average 2,500 birds), 12 of its babies performed fantastic. 'Johnny boy' again descends from 95-230, the brother of 'Ace Four'. Remember a son of 230 is also father 4th National Ace 2006 (raced by P v d Merwe). So both the 2nd and 4th best pigeons from ALL Holland in 2006 descend from 95-230. 05-772 that won 1st prize from 9,500 pigeons April 14th 2007 is a direct son of 230! It was also published in NPO that Mr Nijhof had National Ace Middle Distance in 2006 with a half Schaerlaeckens, line Sissi of course. In 2005 G v d Berg had 3rd best pigeon Holland all round and the same bird was 1st Ace Middle Distance 2006 Section 1. In 2004 Mr Hoffman had 2nd National Ace youngsters (All Holland) through Rens v d Zijde.
Superior again (30/04/2007 ) April 2007 was the warmest and most sunny in Western Europe of all time. Every weekend perfect 'pigeon weather', bright, warm and head winds. On the 28th we had our 4th race 2007 and again the result was unbelievable. 1,404 Pigeons were entered in the Combine, amongst which 29 of mine. I started with 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and so on. No less than 26 birds from 29 won a prize 1 per 4. Of the 25 first pick birds only one pigeon was not on the prize list. Since 26 birds from 29 won a prize 1 per 4 the term 'unbelievable' is not exaggerated. I also race 9 hens in Belgium. In the small combine they would have won 1, 2, 3. In the strong Fed where famous names compete my result was the best there too with 7 prizes from 9 birds (all hens) that I entered.
And again (22/04/2007 ) We had our 3rd race of the season (2007), again bright and headwinds. The result was as spectacular as in previous races. I entered 29 birds, 5 of them arrived together. From 1,312 pigeons they won 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 21, 24, 25, 27 and so on, so 9 birds in first 27. From no less than 9,451 pigeons my 5th bird won prize 28 !!! Since I entered 29 pigeons I was entitled to win 3 prizes in first 10 %. It was 20 !! When I had 25 birds on the result sheet (from 29 I entered) still 862 prizes were to be won 1 per 4. Among the first 10 birds were 5 cocks and 5 hens. Strange! In previous years hens were better. Also the results of Schaerlaeckens birds in other lofts are sensational. Below pedigree of a bird that won 3 times in first 10 National NPO. Raced by Mr Zoontjens, it is another descendant of famous 98-162, son of Ace Four.

Unbelievable again (17/04/2007 ) The first race in 2007 I won 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 as one could see. In the combine it was 2, 4, 7, 10, 11 and so on from 1.032 birds (21/15). April 14th we had our second race. Very warm, headwinds. 4 Pigeons arrived together. In the combine they won 1, 2, 4, 6 against 1,214 pigeons. In total 9,376 pigeons were released. Of this enormous amount I won 1st, 2nd, 4th, 11th (so from 9,376 birds). The winner was 'Lin's Favourite' 05-1490772, a son of 95-230 (Brother Ace Four) and 01-067 Gust. A brother of '772' (02-790) was also fastest whole release (5,794 pigeons), his sister (791) won 6 firsts and a son of 790 (03-922 won from 17,060 pigeons 2nd prize). Unfortunately 790 got lost. A son of 95-230 I sold to P v d Merwe. It produced 4th National Ace All Holland in 2006. 230 is also gr.father of 'Johnny boy' from Mr Munnik that was 6th National Ace and 1st National Ace 'Best ot the best'. I also race 10 hens in Belgium in the Combine of Sint Job which is considered to be the strongest in Belgium. April 15th those 10 hens were raced from Noyon. In the combine they would have won 1, 2 and 3. In the Fed against many famous names my result was by far the best. 8 prizes from 10. First was 06-019, one of the twin girls that performed so fantastic in 2006.
Coincidence? (09/04/2007 ) In 2006 I won the first race 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on. That was from Nijvel with headwinds. Against more than 10,000 birds those birds won 1st, 3rd, 9th and so on. In 2007 the first race was again from Nijvel, again the wind was right ahead and... again I started with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and so on regional. Against 8,004 pigeons those birds won 2nd, 5th and so on. The birds that won 1st and 3rd in 2006 against over 10,000 birds were sisters bred off the same mother of the bird that won 2nd against 8,004 birds in 2007!!!!!!!! The bird that won 3rd in 2006 was 05-773. The bird that won 3rd in 2007 was 05-772. Brother of 773!!! Coincidence?
Again (07/04/2007 ) To day also Champion Mr van Doorn performed fantastic again with off spring Schaerlaeckens birds (line 95-230: brother 96-145 'Ace four'). To day also Mr Merx had fastest bird of the whole province of Limburg; that should be many thousands of birds. Mr Merk' winner is off spring 97-130, a son of Ace Four and Orleansdoffertje. 97-130 Is brother Home Alone (98-162). 98-162 is gr.father of a Super racer fond for Mr Zoontjens and 4th best young bird Holland. 97-130 is also father of a probably the best breeding hen in the loft of superchampion W de Bruyn and he is grandfather of National winners for Michel Vanlint. A sister of 97-130 is mother of world famous Alessandro Bas Verkerk. A descendant of Orleansdoffertje became the best pigeon of Holland in 2006 (raced by Mr Maas) another one became 2nd best of all Germany and so on.
New racing season has started (07/04/2007 ) April 7th 2007 we had our first race of the year. The result of the first race in 2006 was great: 1, 2, 3 and so on. Against 10,114 pigeons I started with 1st, 3rd and 9th. It was warm then with strong head winds.
To day we also raced from Nijvel. Again strong headwinds but now it was cold. Like last year I started with 1st, 2nd, 3rd. (411). Furthermore 6th, 7th and 15 prizes from 21 birds I entered. Unlike last year also the cocks performed well now. The winner was a hen, followed by 2 cocks, a hen and again a cock. The new racing season has started.

So stupid (31/03/2007 ) To day in several parts of the coutry people had their first race. It was bright and the birds had to fight strong head winds. Again I got mails and calls from people that won 1sts against 1000s of birds with offspring of my 03-534 and 03-983. How stupid I was. I do not have these birds any more!!! I often advise that if you have a good family you should not get rid of birds until you know results of their babies but... I should listen to myself !!! Below you find pedigree of 4th National Ace 2006, raced by P v d Merwe. Another descendant of 95-230, brother 'Ace Four'.

Another one (12/03/2007 ) Great news again: Mr Verhoeven v d Berg from Puttershoek became 2nd National champion Short Distance 2006 with Schaerlaeckensbirds through J de Graaf.
Food for thought (07/03/2007 ) The best bird 2006 from Belgium (1st National Ace) belonged to Luc Crucke. Do you know how much he paid for it? 25 euro !! I often write the mistake many people make when buying birds is paying (far too) much money for a pigeon off well known parents or winners. Crucke is smarter. In the spring of 2006 he bought a round of babies from a local guy for 25 euro each. One of them became Belgian's best !!! It reminds me of Vanlint. He got a round (very cheap or for free) from W de Bruyn. Amongst them were 3 National winners. De Bruyn and Eyerkamp got a round of babies from Heremans Ceusters. Some supers among them but... not off the best 'breeding pairs' of H C. So buying more babies from a fancier for a reasonable price is far smarter than put orders for pigeons off special parents !!!
Olympiad 2007 (05/02/2007 ) 20,000 people visited Olympiad at Oostende (many Chinese among them) and that was more than the greatest optimists had expected. The organisation was perfect but the atpmosphere a bit cold. A shadow was the theft of 2 birds. The cameras showed that the 3 thieves got 45 minutes time to do the jobs and unfortunately their faces could not be recognised. The owners were kind of lucky since they did not put the birds into the baskets that were supposed to be there but look alikes. Since many champions did the same, 1000s of visiters were fooled. It was also sad to hear from the Chinese guests how many fake birds with fake pedigrees there are in China.
Unbelievable (29/01/2007 ) Today Super Champion Mr v Doorn asked me if I had read National Magazine NPO nr 4, 2007. I had not. 'Read page 11' he said. I did and what a surprise !!!!!!! Both the 1st best and 2nd best NATIONAL aces young birds from ALL Holland 2006 (raced by Mr Heesen) descend from my birds through W Hulkenberg. His Schaerlaeckenspigeons also produced National Ace Short distance 2005 (Mr Buis).
Another Olympiabird (24/01/2007 ) Also Mr Gyula from Hungry will represent his country at Olympiad with a bird that descends from the Schaerlaeckensloft. Offspring 'Orleansdoffertje' (93-5383224). Orleansdoffertje is another son of Mattens x Sissi.
Latest from Belgium (14/01/2007 ) When the season is in full swing many Belgians (Antwerp) can race every weekend: Quievrain old birds (130 kms) Quievrain yearlings Quievrain youngsters (released 1/2 hour later). Noyon old birds (230 kms) Noyon yearlings Noyon youngsters. Dourdan old birds 380 kms Dourdan yearlings Dourdan youngsters. Plus one or more long distance races. In the past there were also seperate races for hens. Those many races explain that I once saw 16 clocks for one weekend in the loft of Houben and they explain for the little amount of birds in the races. I find it ridiculous and that is also what the Board found. After more than a century (!) they decided to have ONE short race per weekend only and skip Quievrain. This led to an uproar, 4,000 fanciers will fight the new racing schedule till court. Belgian is a country of short distance guys and many that raced Quievrain all their lives fear the birds will get lost from Noyon: 230 kms. To be continued.
At other places (13/01/2007 ) In 2006 Schaerlaeckensbirds performed superb in his own loft and at others as well.
- His partners (Maegh) became Over All Champion ybrds Noyon in probably Balgians biggest and strongest Combine (Sint Job). - Mr Cossa Italy has Olympiad bird bred off 2 direct Schaerlaeckensbirds (Sissi line). - Mr Maas has 1st National Ace Middle Distance ALL Holland (NPO) 2006 with a 100% Schaerlaeckensbird (descendant Orleansdoffertje, Wounded Knee). - Mr Geerenstein has 2nd Olympiad bird ALL Holland All Round, line Wounded Knee. - Mr Pvd Merwe has 4th National Ace All Holland 2006 Middle Distance. Off 95-230 (Brother Ace Four). - Mr Munnik has 6th National Ace ALL Holland with gr.son 95-230 (brother Ace Four). This same bird "Johnny Boy" became 1st NATIONAL ACE PIGEON (young birds) ALL HOLLAND, Best of the best in 2005. - Mr E v d Horst has National Ace Sprint All Holland 2006 (bloodline Wounded Knee). - Mr F van Loo became 1st NATIONAL Champion ALL Holland Fond with parly AS-birds. - Mr Schwichtenberg became 2nd NATIONAL Champion ALL Germany All round 2006 with 100 % Schaerlaeckensbirds. - Mr B v Oeckel won 1st NATIONAL La Souterraine ALL Belgium (mother is a direct A S bird (sister Ace Four) that also bred a 3rd National for Bart in 2005. - Mr van Doorn won 1st and 2nd National Orleans with off spring Schaerlaeckensbirds.
This is only a summary on 2006. Before both M Vanlint, Limbourg, Jeene, Timmermans, v d Zijde, Verkerk, Ulrich, Buis, had S-NATIONAL winners, Aces, olympiad birds with off spring A S pigeons. Mr Verkerk had 1st S-National and 3rd best Europe (gr.son Ace Four) Mr Leytens had 2nd World Champion (off Sissi) long distance and 1st Olympiad Sprint with off spring AS birds, Mr Zoontjens had 4th best youngster ALL Holland (deescendant Home Alone 98-162). Mr Vis won 1st S-National Tours and 1st S-National Ablis. And so on and so on !!!!
Interesting (11/01/2007 ) In a pigeon paper 4 Belgian Champions that performed extremely well in 2006 were described. They all find Sedochol Super stuff to condition pigeons. Unlike Sedochol Baytril is controversial but recently scientists are not as sceptic as they used to be. Limbourg treats his birds Baytril before the season and Sedochol the whole year round!
News from Italy (10/01/2007 ) To day I got a letter from Mr Cossa from Milan Italy. He proudly wrote one of his birds will represent Italy at Olympiad in Oostende January 2007 (Short Distance) that he bred off 2 Schaerlaeckensbirds. The father is a son of 97-1642277 (a son of Mattens and Sissi) x sister 2nd National Ace bred by W de Bruyn. The mother is again a direct Schaerlaeckens bred off 'Adonis' (95-2067343). Now throughout the years 9 pure or half Schaerlaeckens pigeons were Olympiad birds.
Summary on races (09/01/2007 ) - In 2005 Ad Schaerlaeckens won with a great advance all championships Old birds (short distance, middle distance, nominated, non nominated) in the Combine named Cubag. Examples of good races: Harchies 343 p: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 19, 21, 23 and so on (34/22). Harchies 627 p: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 24, 26, 28 and so on. Creil 555 p: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 16, 17, 18, 24, 33, 34, 38 and so on (37/33). Creil 1,343 p: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 21, 22, 24, 33. From 9.526 p: 2 and 5. - He raced young birds at other location. There he won all champions with young birds (Combine St Willebrord eo), despite serious sickness of his partner Mr Heeren.
- In 2006 A S was again sensational with old birds. He started the season by winning 1, 3, 4 (1,379 birds). Against no less than 10,149 pigeons he won 1st, 3rd, 9th and so on. The birds that won 1 and 3 were sisters (daughters of 98-5812162 Home Alone). From Morlincourt (1,143 pigeons) he won: 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21, 23, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, 40 and so on (39/31, 25 birds in first 10 %). Not even one bad race this year!
In spring 2006 his partner passed away. A S put some young birds in the loft of Mr Maegh Belgium who won the first Over All Championship (Noyon) in probably the biggest and strongest Combine of Belgium (Sint Job) where big shots of numerous clubs compete, despite the first 2 races no birds were entered.
So in 2005 his youngsters won 1st Championship in the combine in Holland, in 2006 they won the 1st Over All Championship in the Combine in Belgium whereas his old birds performed unbelievably in his home town.
